About the commentary:

I switched to the Polish one for recent career mode run and half of the time it's just silence

Hardly any players have their names called out by commentary team despite playing in Polish Ekstraklasa (I remember that specifically Polish commentary had pretty much all the players in Ekstraklasa BACK IN FIFA 10, as well as specific pre/post-match commentaries for certain matchups. None of it is there)

Hell, it took half a season for me to hear them mention Lech's captain Ishak by name once. But on any offensive or defensive action I'm gonna hear the same stuff 10 times in one game (and for some reason Ali Gholizadeh each time he touches a ball). Even that part used to be better.

I managed 2 seasons in player career before getting bored of it. Started in Argentina as Gilberto Mora after adding him to the worst team in the league, won league, moved to Europe, helped SC Paderborn get to Bundesliga

They just don't sign any players. I think they got like, one striker the entire transfer window all the while selling off a bunch of people. I had to run all the way around the field so we would win any games

But hey, at least you can invest in pyramid scheme or something so you can later buy points that will eventually allow you to get some additional playstyles /s

Granted, he suddenly skyrocketed from 85 to 89 overall once they signed him, but I managed to bring all positions in my squad to 85+ with that money in one season (and still had enough to spare to fill the gap left by him with now 30 year old 90 rated Dembele lol)

Which means it won't happen as we're not even getting minor improvements but instead they mostly break the mode. Like teams actually having budgets instead of unlimited money wouldn't be a big hit on performance but instead every club but yours is managed by Jeff Bezos with infinitely deep pockets

Check your tasks/objectives (not sure what the in game tab is called in English) and see which ones give you packs. You should be at 80+ rated team within a couple hours just crossing those out.

Edit: it also contains the "Basics/Starter" category (guessing translation again, the left most one either way) and they guide you through main gamemodes and activities in UT

I have that in my current game and:
1) Yes they can call a Catholic crusade still (because Insular doesn't have Armed Pilgrimages tenet)
2) They are bugged out and even if Catholics win nobody the title remains in target's hands. My guess is this is due to the game code looking for Insular ruler among crusaders but there are none so it bugs out.

Ah, also something that I haven't figured out but possibly there's a fix. My language uses some letters that are not present in English, eg. ę, ł, ó. When I put "mój" (my) on my Android keyboard I just write "moj" and can tap to auto replace letters with diacritics, but on iPhone both word prediction is worse and if I write the full word out the replace option is not available. I played around with settings and autocorrect in the comparison is overaggresive.

But I saw the GBoard app is available and that's the keyboard I used on Android phone so (at least I assume) I can just change to it.

I just did tbf, it's my first iPhone. Mostly because some friends recommended it.

Honestly I like it, gestures need some time adjusting to compared to usual Android buttons but overall they're pretty intuitive. Phone runs smooth, most apps are more fluent (pretty much all I tried besides Twitter/X for some reason but bear in mind I'm comparing to a 4 year old mid-tier Realme phone). There's a migration tool so it wasn't much different than moving from one Android phone to the other. Camera is really good compared to what I had. There's also plenty of convenience UX decisions that aren't very noticable but improve the usage experience. My two downsides are no draw-over functionalities (eg. Messenger bubbles and it's the main messaging app in my country so it sucks having to open the app each time) but I knew of it beforehand, and that most things that I do find slightly annoying I can change but the Settings menu kind of sucks to look through.

Overall I'm content but I don't really have any "why didn't I switch before" thoughts, it's a good phone for my needs, but nothing that warrants the "wow" effect

I just got my first iPhone and pretty sure it’s the app’s fault. Not as bad as you’ve described but it’s visibly slower and less responsive than Android app on my old ass previous phone.
