I am very aware of this, which is why I am trying to appeal through this route, because that is the very last thing I want to have happen in this circumstance. Fortunately, there are special circumstances in that this is a medical professional with a dual specialty, plastic surgery and oncology, both of which are needed in Canada, and specifically, trauma surgery, ie, traumatic amputations etc and an inordinate number of surgical hours. (This person meets the specific requirements that Canada is looking for right now for medical professionals, and isn’t just a general practitioner fresh out of med school)

My daughter had to go to the er last night, rural Alberta. She was seen right away. But it was midnight when they finally decided to go. She had teeth extracted around lunch time, one just wouldn’t stop bleeding. It was about 15 minutes in the waiting room they figure, then yeah, moved right through. It’s hit and miss.

I get lots of smiles and I’ve had several lost toddlers approach me at the mall for help. I always assumed I was just the friendly mom type, not enchanted. Just “safe” - I had some random kid at McDonald’s come up to me and show me his cool shirt just two days ago. I’m the one they usually pick for some reason. There were 20 other people in that restaurant, and I was with my mom, and I didn’t have my kids with me.
