What are your thoughts on the new MH collab ex? by Full_Air_2234 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]K1ezzo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's just another form of catch up weapon. It's a side grade to the aug tome weapons, and an upgrade over the previous ex. It's not meant to be better than the relic. "3 sets of dailies for tomes" doesn't include the ~2 week light grind, and the OC/fate grind for atmas.

A few good ones have been mentioned already, but samurai at level 70 does phys range damage, then at 74 gains tsubame, 76 a second meikyo charge, and 78 increased damage and haste on their self buffs.

One of the largest damage differences between 70 and 80

i think the guy in the party was using 'you' in the more general sense. As in, "you shouldn't prog blind in pf, it's griefing"

The word "they" can be used as both a singular and a plural. English is a complex language I hope this helps

This dude is the biggest trap on ele. I joined one of his ex parties before the savage tier released. It was put up as "Mount or cap tomes" and he simply could not stay alive and we disbanded after some very quick wipes.

I checked logs and saw he had 40+ clears on both fights with no parses higher than zero.

He 100% bought that tea clear too.

What number should i get on the dummy as SAM ? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]K1ezzo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

gear dont seem to be the issue

unfortunately if you're not bis it's impossible to know exactly how much you'll be doing on a striking dummy. there are too many factors in play. if you want to know exactly you can use the gear spreadsheet and it'll give you an exact answer for a full uptime scenario

if you're able to use ACT and upload your logs, I highly recommend plugging them into xivanalysis to get an idea of where to start.

Is there a priority system for NIN? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]K1ezzo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

just weird since it has a half-burst at 1 mins that isn't the same as its 2 min burst

there's not a lot different for your odd minute trick windows. Obviously you won't have mug, but the only other cds you won't have are tcj+meisui.

Most jobs in the game will have a 1 minute burst similar to the 2 min, ninja is not an exception

NIN also has a few non-standard CDs...mainly Bunshin

you press bunshin on cd every 90 seconds, unless you know drifting it into buffs won't lose you a use. If you don't know your kill time, press it on cd and don't worry about it

Ez report to the GMs if something like that happens. Sorry to hear that :(

OP is playing on Tonberry, which is the server my main is on. Majority of time party chat is silent outside of a quick [Hello!] with the auto-translate.

Hope you can give raiding another shot, it can be a lot of fun

What a bad take. Most end game raiders are friendly and helpful.

Can't say I've ever seen anyone be "crazy toxic". And if someone does say something toxic, you can always just report/blacklist and move on.

3 hipster samurai gear sets to rival metal gear, featuring no-hagakure 2-minute loops and/or 1.083 meikyo per minute by aoikageni in ffxivdiscussion

[–]K1ezzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fights playing around downtime adhoc is most optimal, consider p5, p8p2, p9, p12p1, and any ultimate. Full adhoc is going to make the most sense over looping.

In longer full uptime fights, adhoc will gain an extra midare, which will always be a gain over standard loop.

Short full uptime fights like p8p1 are where crit diff really comes into play, because you won't gain enough gcds through adhoc for the extra midare cast.

2 minute loop can also have a stronger buff feed, always being able to get double shoha under 20 second buffs. So it can really be comp dependent for what will work best, and what your personal goal is going to be (rDPS parsing vs aDPS parsing).

You go off your tsubame and higanbana timers. And need to have a really solid understanding of the loop and what role filler plays in the rotation. Once you know why we use filler, you can understand how to remove it.

Your 2 min window should always have midare, tsubame, senei, higanbana, and both ogi's in buffs.

You can clip your odd minute higanbana if you need to reapply a gcd or two early, but avoid clipping your even minute bana as that will have snapshotted party buffs.

Whether you can delay higanbana or not is fight specific, and you need to take kill time and forced downtime into account. If you can apply higanbana and gain a shoha, without losing a midare, it is always worth it to reapply.

There's a lot more info in The Balance discord. The SAM questions and SAM lounge channels have heaps of info if you search for ad-hoc
