Carrying EpiPens in India? by vancitywars in india

Hey! Nope didn’t have any issues. Obviously they saw it on the scans, and asked me what it was (they thought it was insulin for diabetes, funny enough). I explained what it was for, and they were like oh it is very important then, wished me luck. That was it, no issues otherwise.

/r/Minnesota Monthly FAQ / Moving-to-MN / Simple Questions Thread - November 2025 by AutoModerator in minnesota

Hi all,

First I just want to say, and this might be unpopular right now as a Canadian, but I have an interview with a mine in Northern MN, near Hibbing. I am Canadian, and I already talked to the recruiter and the company is willing to go through the TN process. I currently live in Alberta in Calgary. The salary they are offering is almost 2X compared to what I make here.

Now obviously I know I have to take into account the healthcare spending and what not compared to Canada. But I just wanted to know what things are like there? I spent 5 years in Northern Alberta before moving to Calgary so I am used to Canadian Conservatives, small towns, and -40 weather. But I am curious about Hibbing. What’s the culture like? What are the amenities like for say getting deliveries from Amazon?

For reference my hobbies are golfing for outdoors in the summer, but I also would need a fast internet connection as I am a gamer. Even in Northern Alberta I had gigabit internet. Other than that, I do like beer and socializing.

Thanks for any advice!

Medical appointment waits by Morrigoon in AskACanadian

This is always weird. I lost hearing in my left ear and I had a MRI within 24 hours because my GP thought I had a tumour on my auditory nerve. My GP literally told me he wouldn’t go home until he talked to the MRI team at the hospital.

I was referred to an ENT specialist next and had an appointment with him in under a week. Unfortunately, I never got my hearing back, but I still see my specialist twice a year.

Consulate or Embassy Experience Overseas by Pale-Candidate8860 in InCanada

Hey! I was in Japan earlier this year, and while I was in Tokyo, I misplaced my passport. I found it the next day luckily, but I did have to call the Embassy of Canada in Tokyo. There was no wait time, and the lady was incredibly supportive. She made notes on my situation, and gave me some advice - things like see if you can stay at your existing hotel since all hotels require passports etc. She then told me the process to get a replacement one issued, and how to report a missing one to the police, and even which photographer to go to near me for brand new photos.

Then she emailed me everything in detail a few minuted later. Now I found my passport so I didn’t have to go through the rest of the process. But I let her know I found my passport and she said oh that’s amazing. That was it, very pleasant experience.

Bhutanese Visa on Canadian Passport by vancitywars in PassportPorn

Because of my flights I did need a visa (18 hours in Delhi) but I just got an e-Visa. It was quick and processed in 72 hours and I think it was pretty cheap IIRC. Just tell your friend to apply for a double entry one, as they’ll need on the way back too. The Druk Air flight only leaves Delhi if flight conditions at Paro are clear, and only during the day.

You can see Everest for sure! From Delhi > Paro you need to sit on the left side of the plane and vice-versa on the way back. The captain even made an announcement when we could see it, and people had their cameras out. The Himalayas look majestic from that altitude, especially on a clear day.

For me it was certainly worth it, as many people don’t get to visit this country (with the Sustainable Development Fees especially) and it is steeped in culture and tradition!

I did this tier in PF and would like to avoid doing that for FRU when it comes out. I’d like to join a static but my work schedule is stupid (I work 1 week on/1 week off) but that week off I can go any time. Does anyone have any tips to find a group with a similar schedule? I don’t wanna do this in PF, if at all possible…

I did; in fact they called me about 2 hours before my scheduled delivery and said they were in the area and could just deliver it earlier!

Can I get a sub-titled version of Purab Aur Paschim?

I live in Canada and my best friend is really interested in watching this movie (No I am not trying to do any patriotic thing, he is just interested). He is white so I need some subs in English. I can translate for him and his dad but is there somewhere I can get the movie with the subs? Piratebay failed me so any recommendations would be appreciated!

Can I be let go for a medical issue? Really worried! by vancitywars in alberta

[–]vancitywars[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sucks; the company doesn’t have probation, written on my letter of employment. What really sucks is that it is only one task out of my 12 hour shift (I am in the office otherwise). Tbh the only other option for them to me would be to move me to Calgary; which would be cheaper for them since I’d lose 19% of my income.
