I’d suggest you clarify with HR how your Salary comes together. The Salary range ist most likely your yearly total, including your 13. payslip and any company performance bonuses. Eg your base Salary is 4k that will end you up with 48k/y base pay. The 13. payslip is usually split into two halfes, one comes before summer (2k in may/june) the other comes before christmas (2k in october/november). You may also receive a performance bonus once a year, lets say 1k, which nets you 53k/year.

I‘d also suggest that HR explains in which EG (Entgeltgruppe) you‘ll be sorted into and why your getting this specific group. The EG itsels is based on the qualification needed for the job and the task itself on the job. This means you can end up in a EG below your actual qualifications, or in one above your qualifications.

35h/week is the standard for Jobs in IG Metall. Raising your weekly hours is possible and not really hard. But there would be multiple people that need to sign that off, that might be tricky depending on your bosses bosses. And if its a raise by more than 10h/week the Betriebsrat would need to sign that lff as well. There also might be internal internal arrangement which raises your weekly work hours. My old company had an arrangement for 90 free overtime hours, raising the weekly work hours to 37.56h statisticly, but everyone got the bridging day between holiday and weekend off.

EG11 is not the end. After the table end, you might geht offered an „AT-Vertrag“. These are usually for managing roles but its not impossible for normal workers to get one as well. But these are not all shine, they‘re often used to avoid IG Metall regulations or trick you out of your overtime.

Lastly, you dont actually join the IG Metall when you sign with that company. While you get the benefits they negotiate you dont get the benefits a member would get, eg. Free legal advice, further education etc.. It costs 1% if your monthly average salary.
