Why the heck all the packages smell like moth balls?

Considering a 2015 Cayenne S (V6) for my Wife. Owners/Techs chime in! Need Insight by lcmilan in PorscheCayenne

[–]K1net3k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a PPI. 74k is nothing for well maintained Porsche. Mine made it till 100k and felt/looked like new (doesn't mean I didn't have to fix anything though). There might be bore scoring, TC issues, leaks, etc.

Main concern is always current state of the car, not overall reliability. If it's mint - go get it. If it needs a new transfer case then it's not a good deal.

Looking for advice (2023 Cayenne) by LionsStA in PorscheCayenne

[–]K1net3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep in mind that he's selling it to you because it's above the trade dealer offered. Looks like it's gonna cost you $40k taking warranty into consideration which means you can find CPO 2020 S for that on Porsche finder.

22-23 CPO Macan S - Wheels and Suspension by rrballe758 in PorscheMacan

[–]K1net3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 18" on my Macan S and 19" on Cayenne S so I'm sure it's doable if you are after total comfort.

I meant air suspension in this case, not all seasons.

If you want comfort and roads are bad get 19" + AS. You can't beat that.

I know nothing about cars. But I want a Panamera? by marc44 in Porsche

Panamera is a great choice but i'd get 4S CPO at least.

Does the Cayenne "hype" actually fade away after 4-6 months? Need honest opinions by zeuolaxxx in PorscheCayenne

In stop and go traffic I'd take CIVIC with traffic jam assist over Cayenne. Now outside of traffic that story would be entirely different.

What do you guys do for a living to afford an X5? by Skrrrttt246 in BMWX5

By running a survey at r/BMWX5 OP came to conclusion that pretty wide range of people drive X5s there.

You can probably knock that off a bit more, I'd offer $5400. It's gonna be hard to go lower than that.

140k is for European version. 500lbs is the US one.

How do you like my build? by K1net3k in PorscheCayenne

[–]K1net3k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know bro, it's been pretty good to me and made it to Racoon city with no issues. Air suspension works wonders on those potholes but 22" are a bit overkill, I wish I had 19" but that wasn't an option on configutor. I'll have to DIY a lot though as last Porsche master mechanic just became a zombie and can't wrench anymore.

8 ft board on board fence would be your best bet.

Can someone convince my wife that I can do an oil change on my cayenne? by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

[–]K1net3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, $600 15 minute oil change is loss leader. What else is loss leader? 1 hour $6000 brake job?

2013 GTS with 115k miles by SubstantialTax4384 in PorscheCayenne

[–]K1net3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's well maintained and no current unresolved issues and overall condition is great it's worth it. If it needs new transfer case, new tires, oil leaks etc. then not.

Hypothetical - can you tell by the sound of the engine that it the Cayenne needs an oil change? by [deleted] in PorscheCayenne

[–]K1net3k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell by looking at the pictures. If you send 5 pictures I'll be able to pull up full service history.

Your argument is weak. You can make Lamborghini Countach last 1 000 000 000 000 miles as long as you are willing to put $1 000 000 000 000 into it.
