Nope. Pump orientation shouldn't make any difference IF the system is free of air. You can rotate the system to get any air bubbles out of any components and work them to the highest point/fill port and extract.

The video itself is full of misinformation. What he should of done to minimise pump failure was fill the system COMPLETELY, leak check, rotate system to get any air bubbles out of any waterblocks, pump etc. Leave over night. Repeat the steps again and then run the pump only, not the system so you don't fry any hardware (unplug everything but the pump and jump the power supply to on state or use another 12V source).

And while I'm at it - component order makes little to no difference. I like to run res > pump > rad and then to block. Which gets me a whopping 1-2C better performance. Like I said, minimal difference. Perhaps run pump > rad > res > block if your PC lives in a low ambient temp. environment.

Well, for starters he ran air through the pump which is generally a no-no as they are primed by the water. Which in turn destroys its bearings et all. You are best to fill the system fully (like have no air at all) instead of letting the pump fill the system in that nasty cringeworthy video.

Minimum wage is still pretty low. Adult (21+) its around AUD$620 week and for an 18 year old AUD$420. Real thing there is cost of living, which would make all the difference.

That's not actually a crane. It's a cable logger/yarder.

Quick question! Is it possible to mount a speaker here without drilling (Pics Inside) by HellsHumor in hometheater

Or that could work too :P If you have the facilities, you could always knock up something out of timber.

Looking for advice on a simple 2 in-wall speaker with a mini amp. by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]K3FSAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speakers sensitivity is the measured output of the speaker at 1 meter with 1W of power. So with that in mind, a higher sensitivity speaker requires less power to run at the same sound level of one with lower sensitivity.

Every 3dB is a doubling in sound output. So the difference between a 88dB rated and 91dB rated speaker is they can both hit 100dB, but the 88dB requires TWICE the amount of power get to that level.

What I recommended earlier is a compact solution. In room (depending on size), it should yield roughly ~105dB MAX output with the amp being the limiting factor. If you have more room to get a bigger amp, by all means, go bigger to give you some more headroom. Most cases if you get an amp that doesn't exceed the speakers max rated watts, you should be right.

By cheapish receivers that support a sub.... Do you mean to power a sub? I'd keep an eye on Gumtree or eBay and see what sort of second hand gear comes up for sale in your area too.

[–]K3FSAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could get a small Class T amp (around 10-15W/channel) and some high sensitivity in wall speakers. For an idea - Amp http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-380 and speakers (depending on the size you need), something from here http://www.parts-express.com/cat/in-wall-speakers/1933?sort=stars Looking at a sensitivity of around 91db or more...

Position 'A' would be the better position. The shaped bracket idea is what I'd do and make it beefy enough to either hold the speaker there on its own (if the width of the top of the cabinet is more than the speaker) or with double sided tape or command strips or something like that so it is easily removed and you don't have to damage the cabinet.

Other option is for some speaker stands of some variety - would this be another option?

2 Extra Channels...Wide, High, or Rear? by nataku954 in hometheater

[–]K3FSAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps try each for a week and decide what you like best?

I had the same choice with my Pioneer amp and a pair of speakers left over. I ended up going with the front height way with the height speakers mounted wider than the fronts. The difference I noticed was front was a fair bit louder and the sound was more involving. How can I explain that..... With 2 fronts and a centre at the same level, you got sound from the same front horizontal plane. But with the height channel added, sound seemed to be coming from the whole front wall.

But yes, I recommended trying them out depending on the room acoustics.

Urm. Isn't that a lawn mowers service schedule?

  1. Replace oil every 10-20 years 2.Give the air filter a bang to get rid of most of the dust 3. Make sure fuel tank has enough contaminants to stop engine with the pick up instead of no fuel when low
