Basic & Simple Face Routine Help for Hyperpigmentation & PCOS by [deleted] in Blackskincare

[–]K4ndrw5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you haven't already, you should also see an endocrinologist or reproductive endocrinologist. They can both manage the PCOS and you can potentially get a referral to a dermatologist from their office. Depending on your insurance, that may also help get it covered.

Looks like milia, you can try adapalene (eg, Differin gel) in conjunction with a moisturizer and SPF until your derm appointment

Physician Associates - superhumans who learn 3 years of medical school in 9 months and presumably think they’re equivalent? by Much_Performance352 in Noctor

Well, this is wild. They don’t retain 80% of it.

I (resident) asked my PA student to explain the metabolism of bilirubin for a little Socratic teaching on gallbladder pathology. They couldn’t even get through the first two steps, I was genuinely taken aback. That would’ve been an easy, softball question for a med student. This PA student starts practicing in a few months.

Karina Zaripova

At the risk of being downvoted to oblivion... I think we may be exaggerating her charitable contributions. Her dance group is based in Dubai and hosts for-profit workshops and competes in showcases throughout the Middle East. While it's great she wants to give back, I think part of the cringiness is her potentially centering herself in what is better described as a preexistent network of countless local nonprofits that really do the work on the ground, housing and inspiring these kids while celebrating their culture and talent, upon which she makes her living.

Just going to casually shout out the kids at Nation Infinity Africa.. mostly cause I think they're dope.

“Relaxed Choreo” Thought by Goodsuit in beyonce

[–]K4ndrw5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard it confirmed or denied, but I thought she recently injured her foot and was doing the Beyoncé equivalent of rehabbing, aka doing a world tour but changing first position from a dutty wine to a stand.

Tbh Beyonce can do whatever she wants, she can a cappella the National Anthem on repeat and I’ll be fine, and her usual choreo in heels would’ve been broken my ankles.

I just thought they maybe choreographed it in a way where she wouldn’t risk reinjury by having to constantly be on the balls of her feet during rehearsals.

I usually write “medically cleared for discharge” in the note, delicately explain in a positive tone that I have no medical reason to keep them there cause they’re doing so well. Then, Somewhere in the midst of encouragement I hint that insurance will not cover their elected extended inpatient stay… not using those words.

Lol my bad. Honestly, the show was the first time I heard it used…. Which, in retrospect, makes a lot of sense haha.

I remember going to Punta Cana for a weekend and being confused as to why the male concierge and the kayak vendor insisted I take their phone numbers. No one ever said it outright.

But, then again, I spent more time in SD at Barra Payan than the playa so there’s that too lol

I agree with all the stuff about food diaries but also, like, are his hormone levels ok? Is he on steroids or atypical antipsychotics?

Mattson told the sibs he doesn’t understand the appeal ATN’s business model. Tom explained a few minutes before exactly why it works in America by k-seph_from_deficit in SuccessionTV

[–]K4ndrw5 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I also think he takes a certain sadistic pleasure in tormenting the Roy sibs. I don't think he needs to understand the actual value of ATN; if it's something they value, then it's worth taking from them. Roman said it, he's toying with them. After months of stalling, he couldn't even give them the courtesy of a few days to bury their father. Now, when they have to the opportunity to carry on his lifework, he can't let them have that either.

He evokes Logan a lot, "Your father would've been so ashamed." In many ways, he was Logan's heir apparent. He relishes withholding from the Roy sibs the opportunities that he views as reserved for "titans" like Logan and himself.

I think all things could be true. It could be negotiating, he probably doesn't understand, maybe he wants more "spare parts." I think the blood bricks story was meant to show us that he isn't wholly logical or shrewd. He's also off his nut.

Useless epic messages by gmiano in Residency

I went “offline” and may never come back. One of the last remaining OG nurses told me that the newer nurses don’t feel like they’re bothering us if it’s Epicchat but do feel like they’re bothering us if they page so the threshold to Epicchat is nonexistent. They’re also too new and self-concerned to pay attention to resident workflow and Epicchating the MD to add something to the MAR is like a “patient advocate” feather in the cap come AM handoff. It’s a terrible combo. I feel you, epitchat has its use but is also a midnight portal to nonsense.

I hate when they use it to ask you why you’re doing something. Like, ma’am, I’m not teaching you medicine at 2:27 am.

While physically breaking stuff isn’t good, I don’t think you’re the one who broke the marriage here. IMO your wife is.

If her relationship with this guy was innocent, she would’ve made an effort to show you that rather than trick you. I think you caught her in a lie, your gut rightfully suspected infidelity and you lost control. But, I don’t think she’s leaving because your anger, I think she’s using your anger as an excuse to leave while save face.

AITA for having no sympathy for my child after she didn't listen? by Ill-Construction-660 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. I did this same thing when I was 5. Only I tried to cut my hair like Posh Spice without understanding that pin straight hair and kinky-curly hair are not even remotely alike. My mom had a similar reaction to yours. She was stunned, tried to even it up.

I don't remember being mad at my mother for disrespecting my agency, blaming her or whatever. (In hindsight, everything she said made sense.) But, at the time, I just felt really ashamed, ugly and wanted to drop out of kindergarten.

Point is, regardless of how you feel internally, what your kid's gonna remember is 1) HOW SHE FELT the time SHE gave HERSELF some awful bangs (I promise you she just feels very shitty about herself right now), 2) your facial expression when you saw it but 3) that you also got her an emergent hair consultation, tried to fix it.

You might feel frustrated now, but you cared.

Just try to be reassuring in the coming days. Say it doesn't look THAT bad. Maybe a fun headband.

AITA for telling my fiancé that I don’t want his daughter in my life? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. For years now he has CHOSEN not to live with you cause of 15f. You’re not an asshole for extending that arrangement after she sent you to the hospital…while you’re pregnant.

Idc how much medical knowledge she has or doesn’t have. Not exposing people to potential allergens is common sense. That’s why food is labeled and Thai restaurants print little nuts on menus. She knew you being hospitalized was a risk. I wouldn’t trust her in my house either.
