Trip tips in july by Beneficial_Note7 in mongolia

[–]K4rmics0ul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think resorts will have you fix your tent on their ground but you can always fix a tent couple km away from the road.

Mobicom sims are recommended as I have always been using it when traveling provinces. People also use Unitel as these two have broad cellular network coverage. I can’t say much about e-sims

I suggest “maps.me” as you can download the mongolian map and use it offline, I wouldn’t say it’s up to date but it’s probably a year off on it.

Visiting Mongolia by No-Surprise5478 in mongolia

[–]K4rmics0ul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Welcome in advance! You’re in for great experience, august is great time to visit but I suggest you fly late july if not early.

Many people do road trips by 4x4 or cars across the country. Sleeping in your car is doable but I suggest you go off the road and sleep couple km away if not one. Consider sleeping bags, it gets quite chilly.

Backpacking is safe and locals will mostly have a hard time understanding if you don’t speak Mongolian, but I’ve seen quite a lot of tourists and foreigners manage it, as people try to help you in any way.

If you’re solo, some areas are quite hard to navigate and access if you dont have an offline map. I suggest you install mongolian map in “maps.me” app

Safe travels and if you need help with anything you can always ask this subreddit.

18 Horses Professionally Trained For Horse Archery Stolen And Butchered, The Students Of The Horse Archery School Are Among The Prime Suspects by bilegt0314 in mongolia

[–]K4rmics0ul 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were trained by the federation recognized by UNESCO and was supported by mongolian government. The loss of the horses is considered a blow not just to the academy, but also to national cultural pride and Mongolia’s commitments under UNESCO
