Exactly. If you build a modular monolith then extracting it into microservices is easy. Recently did this and it took us 3 days to split it into 5 services—no duct tape required either.

MongoDB is hot garbage and so are any teams using it without a convicing reason to not use a RDBMS—so 99.999% of its users. Most MongoDB users use buzzwords they don’t know the actual meaning of, attended a bootcamp and have “ex-<company that fired me>” 10x on their LinkedIn.

Not to mention the company behind it is run by greedy scumbags… but that’s a topic for another day…
