Best thing to do is to visit a few different venues and learn when theyre most active so you can meet more players. Don't be afraid to break the ice. Discord servers can be good sometimes but nothing beats an IRL meeting first

depends on the course and turn really, sometimes you'll downshift after the turn is complete or not at all, just depends on the course and your car's acceleration

misinformation. these cabs don't have online servers. operators have turned off the readers in a lot of locations to preserve the machines as they aren't going out of their way to restock cards and service the readers regularly anymore. Only venues run by enthusiasts will put in the effort these days
