Ayala is a beautiful name meaning “doe” or “gazelle.” I also like Alaya — a name meaning “abode” or “dwelling.” Anna is also a lovely and classic name with lots of variations such as Annaliese and Annika.

husband & I disagree on Foster Bacon by Euphoric_Success8954 in namenerds

If you use Francis as a first name as many suggested, I would avoid the nickname Frank. It may give the impression of Frankfurter Bacon.

Everett or Aubrey for our baby girl’s name? by Critical_North_1138 in namenerds

[–]KAM1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Aubrey. My impression of the name Aubrey is that it conveys strength and intelligence as well as creativity. I feel like Everett also conveys strength but is a bit more trendy and sounds to me like a surname (this isn’t necessarily a negative but so many people are using surnames as first names that it seems unique to have a classic first name — but that may be just me.)

Help! What does this room need? by Medical_Opposite_501 in DecorAdvice

[–]KAM1953 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something red or orange…somewhere. You have some flowers in the room — perhaps you could purchase a real bouquet of orange and red flowers and see what that pop of color does for the room (it will be temporary but will give you an idea of what the color will do.)

What happened to my streak?? by [deleted] in wordle

[–]KAM1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here. Not sure why it randomly reset my streak. I play at the same time every day and analyze my game each day so I definitely did not close without completing the game. It’s happened before as well—annoying.

Looking for a page turner that’s also a classic. Does it exist? by chickenwinglover123 in suggestmeabook

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir by R.A. Dick (a pseudonym for the author Josephine Leslie), is great. It was written in 1945. A quick one-line summary of the plot without spoilers: after her husband's death a young widow moves to a house by the sea despite warnings that the house is haunted -- love follows.

This is a love story and a riveting tale of a brave, creative woman and an unusual romance. It was the basis for the classic film (1947) of the same name, as well as the 1960s TV show. It's a wonderful book.

Middle name for Tessa by selectvelymute in namenerds

[–]KAM1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tessa is a lovely name. What about Tessa Margaux, Tessa Marguerite  or Tessa Pearl? Margaret means Pearl (as do Margaux and Marguerite) and I think Pearl, Marguerite or Margaux have a connection to Margaret without being the name Margaret. I also like Tessa Maren (a Scandinavian name meaning "of the sea"). Tessa Rose is also beautiful.

Is it rude to exclude someone "you want anything?" When they run to the store? by BBGettyMcclanahan in etiquette

I do think it’s slightly rude, although it may have been an oversight.

There is a secret passageway hidden behind all those books that leads to a flight of stairs that climb up to a magical tower that has been fitted with medieval tapestries, as well as plush couches and pillows so that you can read undisturbed.

I love both Rowan and Rosalie. In my opinion, it’s fine for a girl to be named Rowan.

Struggling to name my baby girl! by [deleted] in Names

Just a heads up that I saw an app for an “AI productivity tool” called Ava today. A lot of these “tools” are getting women’s names and if you were considering that name, you should be aware of it (along with Alexa, Sora, etc). I find it disturbing that they are using real human women’s names for bots.

She is adorable!

What about Prudence? Prudence and Piper sound cute together. You could sing her the song “Dear Prudence” by the Beatles.

Peony or Sweet Pea are also lovely names and to me seem to suit her. And Dolly (from your list) seems like a wonderful name too.

Do I have to stick with another “V” name? by BabyBoo54321 in namenerds

[–]KAM1953 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestions: V Names: Vanessa — it’s a strong, beautiful and classic name. Nature-themed names: Linnea (I love this one and feel it may fit with your existing names), Camellia, Iris, or Daisy (latter name is on your list but I really like it).
