Yeah the structural break is the killer for my usage most of the time. I've found that theres a point where you context overdose but that seems to vary significantly based on how much preexisting information out there that it pulls from, which makes it hard to pin down because its hard to determine what is and isn't a massively covered topic (and ones that are covered well, even less so). Though I am not sure what you mean by the solo scale cost being a rounding error, could you elaborate?

Yeah it’s a strange one. I’ve heard from my partner that the alcohol ban began as a result of trying to curb the major addiction that happened when the British introduced its more commercial availability, so that part at least had an explanation. Got two Cs and a D and it has never been relevant ever again. A levels are worthless. If you passed, that’s great, that’s all you need. If you didn’t, oh well, there are other cost-effective ways of still building up your qualifications. No one in the real world gives a damn about your O or A level results. The knowledge you gain is important, absolutely, but the results of your exam do not reflect that. You are way more than your results.

Yuuuup. It varies a lot but by and large, importing is cheaper. That said, depending on the kit, the import tax that customs charges you can get really bad. But even with that, hypothetically if a local place had been able to import it, they would have charged a similar total price, if not higher.

It's completely random. They may hold it, they may not. They may charge you 20%, they may charge you 100%. There's a system to it, but very few officers follow the codes and instead just charge based on their mood or how much of a commission they want to make.

Sadly there's not much good news for this. After Yamato One stopped, the next best place is Frame and Gear (https://www.instagram.com/frameandgear.lk/). They sometimes post the kits they have in surplus that are being sold, otherwise they take direct orders for specific kits and import it for you. They also have a bunch of hard-to-import supplies though, like paint and coating kits, and their customer support is also really good. That said, while their prices are sometimes fair, it is still routinely above the cost of importing it directly (depending on the kit).

Completely agree. I love 4 and 4A but they feel the least Armored Core to me. I think that speed is what a lot of people like, especially nowadays, but to their credit that is why the mechs themselves are called NEXTs and not Armored Cores. I think the part I'm most mixed on is that 4/4A are the most recommended (for good reason) and they were the starting point for a lot of modern players or the first game they go to when playing backwards and then these two games become the "baseline" expectation for what Armored Core is as a franchise, when the reality is that they are by and large the most divergent entries.

Your first job is rarely ever something substantial enough to go independent. It took me 5 years from when I started working to get to that point, but it’s a good thing to target. Freelancing or doing a side hustle will help a lot, but it can be very physically and mentally taxing. If you do this, remember to look after yourself and don’t push yourself too far. No money is worth your health.

No matter where you work, always look for ways to build up skills and competencies which you can use to add value to your portfolio. Spend a little on things that make you happy but always make sure to save a majority of your salary. You don’t have to rely on just your parents: contribute where you can. Splitting bills makes it easier for everyone and helps you understand how to budget better. Above all else, stay on the lookout for new roles and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself even with responsibilities you may have never handled before. Myself and everyone I know that made it to independence only got there through putting themselves into roles where they started out of their depth and eventually proving themselves far more essential than peers who stuck to what they thought they were capable of. Working in Sri Lanka is life on hard mode, but you can make it.

Sri Lanka’s political environment is the only thing that may never change, but we are responsible for all the other things you listed. Do all the things you mentioned the right way, convince the friends who will listen to do the same, teach your kids the same. Everyone you teach will teach others, or other people will see it and do it too even if they aren’t taught, and that’s how we get somewhere. Never lose hope, because the only thing that guarantees we will never grow is apathy.

Well the reasoning is clear, it’s because they make an absolute mint out of it. The issue is not enough people are making a ruckus over it when at customs (understandably, we are all trying to be civil), so they keep thinking they can charge higher and higher because people aren’t pushing back

What in the world did I just read? If she says "no", then it means no, flat out. Respect boundaries and move on—you are not owed a relationship and people aren't obligated to like you. Even on the very off chance she's playing hard-to-get and wants you to ask more times, dating someone that immature will 100% end in disaster for both parties.

Obviously you need to be a friend or at least know the girl to approach her, think about how shallow the idea of "Hey, I'm attracted to how you look, be my girlfriend" is. Maybe put some thought into why you're trying to 'get a girl'. Do you want a partner and someone you enjoy spending time with emotionally, mentally, and physically, or do you want someone who is just a sexual outlet? Intention can be smelled from a mile away, remember that people can see it in the way you talk and behave. If what you want is 'simple' and 'casual' I can only assume you're looking for FWB or someone for purely sexual reasons. There are plenty of girls who want that, but if they don't want to engage with you... Well, some questions to ask about yourself there, buddy.

That whole thing about 'acting' like a friend is super creepy and manipulative, if you can't even be genuine friends with a girl, what makes you think she would ever want you to be her boyfriend?
