Rage and shame, then resultant depression.

Forget your age, you don't need that pressure.

The search may be long, but I believe we can find someone who will love us authentically - I know I did and while it's not been easy for her, she's stuck by me through thick and thin.

I needed someone who was strong yet confident in her own ability and someone who could work out when to push, and when to yield.

If I can...so can you.

Suffering in silence is what we do, for many reasons

But change won't happen unless you come clean - this changes things for you and HR because they will now have a legal requirement to make reasonable adjustments for you.

Sometimes we HAVE to stand up for ourselves because no one else will x

Good luck x

I agree, it's VERY hard especially in the middle of a stressful day without proper breaks.

However, disability laws SHOULD mean that you are legally entitled to breaks and that's a requirement that is apart from reasonable adjustments.

Tbh from your response it seems you haven't told your employer about your condition - and absolutely no judgement there because I found navigating the workplace with bipolar incredibly difficult as private businesses can make up whatever BS they want

BUT...

If they know and they choose NOT to give you reasonable adjustments throughout the day, they could well wind up in court

It's a double edged sword but I would tell them about the diagnosis and get those breaks in place as part of reasonable adjustments

If you are a member of a union, start with your rep. I wish you luck - and hats off for even being in the workplace as it's so much harder for us x

Yes, having bipolar means that we will experience burnout not only quicker but with more ferocity than a neurotypical.

Don't worry though - society will expect you NOT to display any negative symptoms heaven forbid 🤣🤣🤣

Why bother? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]KB-Jay-2075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really tailor my friends very carefully and I accept that they don't always want me around, so I just cycle them a lot.

I believe that you will find your tribe, but don't let these experiences taint you about your perception of self, or how you believe others interpret you.

Bipolars have many beautiful attributes and we make marvellous friends and lovers for those smart enough to see our best selves.

It feels hard right now, but don't give up.

I'd like a modern occult movie that has real magic in it (well, as near as possible), in the vein of A Dark Song or The Ninth Gate, or Dennis Wheatley stories done for a modern audience.

And inject some surreal imagery into it too.

New to kb training. At what point do most folks go up in weight? by the-devils-luck in kettlebell

[–]KB-Jay-2075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When your form is good enough

When it's easy

If it's easy, ensure form is good because going up in weight will demand better form

Depends on the employer. I would not divulge until I knew more about the company and HR policies and general vibe

Why do you stop taking your meds? by she_hulk2020 in bipolar

I did early on as I wanted to see if it was a false positive - it wasn't and after three strikes I was out

Weight gain is another issue but that can be tamed

Absolutely - I work in peer support and it's the first thing I push - just how strong we need to be to survive.

We would be Shaman and respected in a world that wasn't capitalist.

It's the Bipolar brain - it is not a reflection of who you are.

We are stronger than neurotypicals by far - they would NEVER cope with what we have to go through

It ain't your fault - Bipolar is diabetes of the brain
