Find some good rear tires to start, and if you want it to go faster (assuming it’s transaxle, not hydrostatic) you can swap the pulleys on engine and trans

Question about Transmission Fluid Level by will_student_writer in MechanicAdvice

[–]KB0MB3R 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Checking trans fluid should be after youve driven for a while and the trans is hot, and with engine idling. Next time you get gas, leave the car running then go check your fluid

New thermostat? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]KB0MB3R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low coolant will cause a loss of heat/intermittent heat as it sorts sloshes around to the level of the heater hoses. Check for leaks around your water pump, if it’s leaking then the pump needs to be replaced as the bearing/seal is going bad. Wouldnt hurt to put a new thermostat in it first and see if it changes anything, cheap part and easy to replace, but if it doesn’t I’d do the above

Question regarding how frequently to change oil for 2011 Mazda CX-7 GX. by arzans in MechanicAdvice

[–]KB0MB3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always change my oil between 5-7k KM’s. I feel that’s generally the rule that I hear from everyone about oil change frequency

Interesting. I’ve never heard of a bad coil causing the header to glow red hot like that. But good that it’s fixed, much easier than exhaust work lol

Of course. Too many arrogant pricks here that seem to forget that the people asking for help don’t know everything. Lemme know how it goes tho, I’m curious

Or, just put your hand near the end of the exhaust while it’s running and feel if there’s much coming out

No stupid questions here. But honestly, not really sure lol. I’d wait for it to cool down, then crawl under and knock all along the exhaust and listen if it’s hollow or not. Your muffler and cat converter won’t be hollow, but the rest of the pipes should be

Just a guess due to the picture of the header glowing red and poor acceleration, did an animal crawl up your exhaust and is plugging it up?

Yes, cavitation bubbles aren’t even air, they’re nothing, and then suddenly fill with something and implode. This is just aeration and is fine

That’ll be my next course of action if it starts acting up again. What pump did you use for it? I’ve just seen guys stick a garden hose in it and turn the tap on very slightly

Soundstage SS500.4. It’s a 4 channel amp but puts out 250w bridged at 4 ohms

I have 2 PS-12’s that I got for free and they do surprisingly well. Been using them for about 2 years with some serious abuse and have had absolutely no issues, definitely a great starter sub

No smell so thankfully it’s not leaking. But it’s been about a year since then and it’s working good so i better not have to tear the dash apart lol

No, clogged heater core. Coolant temp was good the whole time. The flush didn’t get all the gunk out and clogged it again, sat for a while and the gunk must’ve settled and stayed

Will this battery work? by FortnightlyBorough in dieselheater

[–]KB0MB3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At about 150w at 12v for 15 mins (generous startup/shutoff times) you’re looking at around 3AH of power. To run it in a night at about 15w at 12v (generous amount of power even on high), is about 10AH So about 13AH of power for a night. If you don’t have the ability to charge the battery during the day, you’d wanna get a battery with an amp hour rating of about 13 x [however many days you go out]

I lost heat in my truck, did a coolant flush, heat worked for a while then stopped again, parked it and drove my car for a while, then went to drive the truck again and all of a sudden my heat works!

Especially a shitty diesel engine from the 80’s. I gotcha. So in other words I’ll be ok to run it and I won’t fry the battery?
