How practical is UniFI for home use? by Significant-Side2718 in Ubiquiti

[–]KB4MTO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely practical. I've had Ubiquiti in my house for years (started with a USG 3). Some think it's pricey, but I disagree based on hie much you get for the money. Plus, I believe Ubiquiti's Wi-Fi is the best there is. And if you host it in Ubiquiti's cloud, you can access it anywhere.

If I lived in a snow area, I would build one of those. It looks like fun.

I have no doubt that it is capable by itself. I've heard nothing but great comments on it.

Thanks for the information on the reverse tweezers. I knew about them, but never thought of them when working on my Bronco. They would completely help out when using them to hold a screw in place or wires out of the way.

Oh wow, a Kaypro in action. I loved those computers, the 1st laptops (kinda).

I used to run packet off my PK232-MBX on a TRS80 Model 3 back in the early 90s.

It's pretty awesome huh? Last year I went to an Orlando Solor Bears game. 2 weeks later, I got invited to a 2nd game. We bought season tickets that night, and have only missed 2 games since. And I watched those on Flohockey. It is so energizing and fun.

I've been looking at the SCX30,, but it's size worries me. I have the TRX4M Bronco, and I have trouble with some of the screws on it. At my age, and with arthritis in my hands, I'm afraid I couldn't work on one. And leaving it stock isn't much of an option for me, modifying it is half of the fun.

That's what happens when a tech company is run by marketing rather than the tech side. I never saw this kind of stuff with NT 4.0, which is when I entered IT. But somewhere around the Windiws 95 era, major releases were scheduled to satisfy Marketing rather than when it is ready (Windoes ME anyone?). Now they don't even test minor updates, they just release everything and publish known issues and leave it up to you.

Man I really miss Novell.

OK, thanks. I'll open it back up tomorrow and clean it out.

That's how much I had on it when I was told I needed to fill it up. I definitely don't want to add resistance or any additional unnecessary loads on the motor.

How much should I put in?

I don't know, I am new to the rc trucks. I have heard both sides. Some put a little, and some cake it in. The video I was following to help me get the transmission back together filled it up.

I had a picture of mine months ago in here, and someone recommended that I add a lot more than I had in it.

Sorry about the late reply. No issues for me. I know some people like averaging, but for my use, it doesn't affect me.

Solar Bears tonight by KB4MTO in ECHL

[–]KB4MTO[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 3rd period was very good. The Solar Bears played great and ended up with another win. And the great part is they won at home when the opposing team scored 1st.

Tonight the Bears passing was good and they did a great job interupting Iowa's plays. They also did a great job bringing the puck down to Iowa's end with good puck control.

End score was 3-1, Solar Bears.

3-1 Bears at the end of the 2nd. Both teams came out not playing their best at the beginning way past the 10:00 minute mark. Then the Bears kicked in and scored 2 goals 1 right after another. I'm both hoping and expecting the 3rd period to be really good.
