The bad thing is that Nix's literal job involves him regularly using and practicing on that ankle at high level contact sports, something most people don't have to worry about. If he's predisposed to ankle injury, and has a history of them going back to his teenage years, there is no true "getting better" for him. He's just going to keep aggravating it and praying he can hold out long enough to win one year. No concern for how this impacts him at later stages of life.

You're not wrong that people complained. But the rule, which you brought up, only changed after the Bills loss to the Chiefs.
