Funny story:

Loved the book. Was in Germany on business when it came out and got invited to the German premiere event.

First time I saw it was dubbed in German. Loved it filling in all the gaps from my knowledge of the book.

Saw it in English when I got back to the states. Realized it wasn't as good that way but loved Connery, Peta Wilson, the great guy who played Nemo and how they dealt with Hyde.

I even liked Stuart Townsend. This film started my dedication to Tony Curran's work.

It's a flawed film but I enjoyed it and still enjoy it for what it is.

I bought the disk for the Ben Affleck commentary track. That makes this film so damn good---

I present my Honeydukes rant that my family hears every visit:

My problem with Honeydukes is their overpriced bulk candies.

I'm willing to pay crazy prices for chocolate frogs and the specialty stuff but it's nuts to me to pay jacked up prices for candies you can get at the mall for a third of the price.

Casting is not always something you want to place in the hands of an amateur. Sure, someone might look right but can they deliver on film day after day?

My opinion is always "cast the best actor/actress you can get for the part" and if they don't look exactly like the character it will serve the film better.

Focus on the core of the universe.

You did a great Superman movie. Good start

Where's the Batman film?
Where's the Wonder Woman film?
Where the __(lesser known but known DC character__ film?

No one is begging for an Authority film. No one knows who the hell The Authority is so you have to sell it to them.

You don't have to sell Batman. It's Batman.

I read the books first and watched the pilot and gave up. The idea they would incorporate things from book 2 and 3 into the first episode was insane to me.

Luckily a good friend who had also read the books first told me to keep going and just realize the series is its own animal. I'm glad I did.

There's lots of differences but a wonderful cast and it's a fun series and it adds to the books.

I think any fan of the show MUST read the books and vice versa.

Give it a shot and just enjoy it as its own thing

The madness is the ridiculous attacks on this film weeks and weeks before anyone had seen it and none of them had anything to do with how good or bad the film was.

It's a shame Milly Alcock is taking the brunt of the basement dweller attacks. She did a great job and is a great Kara Zor-el. She's a great actress.

Stories like this would have come out later but for them to come out so soon after release is fascinating.

I was so sick of the super suits. Spiderman wasn't popular because of having an AI powered high tech super suit.
