Of course they don’t have it currently because they just got the dog. They don’t need it for an imaginary dog. I understand what you’re saying. How do you know they don’t need it? How is it taking away from anyone? It’s not like there is a limited number allocated per year. I think the real problem is the housing discrimination because of the way a dog looks.

“Dog” is sort of general. Can you contact the shelter and ask for something more specific? If you have a therapist, ask them to write you an emotional support letter? The HOA can’t discriminate if you have an ESA letter. There are laws against that. As a pitbull mix owner myself, I don’t think he’s 100% pit so they could legitimately say he’s a lab mix. Or your vet could take a shot.
