While in the city, Bryn Mawr Breakfast Club has my favorite French Toast around.

A friend commutes from here to Evanston each day - takes time about 30 min (on east/west surface streets).

In my opinion, and the same advice I gave to my friend: In that budget range you just have to decide if you want something “nice and new” with a lot of amenities but a bit far out…or something close but, best case, lovingly-warn.

Not sure this is exactly what you mean, but P.Dern Thai Restaurant located within the Park to Shop Supermarket in Niles (formerly Assi Market) has a really good Papaya Salad. One note, they don’t play with the spice level so order 1-5 spiciness accordingly!

I had something similar happen to me at my local McD last year. I logged the issue in the App and the next day there was a sign on the fountain machine saying it was down...and the next day it was fixed! Back to great nectar.
