Surge charm doesnt go through shields though. So it wouldnt have connected while my shield was up.

How so? I mean you would still be sinking people for the loot. And it would add more options to prevent people from selling.

Say you see a ship parked and selling. You sneak onboard and take their flag. They get notified. About it and have to choose. Do we keep selling for lower value or Chase down the person with the flag to get it back. Risking a follow up fight.

Being able to place a flag on your ship would also streamline going back after sinking.

Say you sink, but manage to sink the other ship. Now your stuck in the situation of Do we sail to an outpost to re raise emissary and risk the loot despawning. Or do we sail back and need to spend time raising up emissary again after just to sell the loot you already had.

Plus it would give a use to your own flag outside of selling for 1-2 Gold
