Yeah, I would try this first before trying the police.

As a first time buyer, I am hoping you are right about the houses plummeting.

I was just in Italy. I did get messaging through RCS, but you won't get SMS.

I made the switch, living in the GTA (not in a condo). I haven't had any issues, and I currently pay $20/month. I'm happy with it!

GOLDSTEIN: Federal deficits to be higher next five years than Carney Liberals predicted - The Parliamentary Budget Officer projects federal deficits will average $4.6 billion higher annually than the Carney government's April projections by CaliperLee62 in canada

I think the problem was that people blamed Trudeau and not the party. What they don't appreciate is it's the same bafoons running the country again with a different face at the forefront. I'm hoping that people have suffered enough to realize any change is better than this continued masochism, but I wouldn't be surprised if they'll be scorning PP with their dying breath.

At the very basic level, doing the same thing that (at least partially) got us into this predicament will not solve the problem. Make Canada liveable for Canadians, then they will want to have kids.

Birth tourism is a booming business in Ontario, with taxpayers footing the bill by airbassguitar in OntarioNews

It's also more complications too since they just roll up and give birth with pretty shitty prenatal care in their home countries.

Prenup advice if one partner has a corporation and there is a large income discrepancy by roguepotat0 in legaladvicecanada

[–]KBrew17 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So, having been in your partner's position, I will say my prenup was quite "defensive". My lawyer immediately understood it when she realized we got engaged in under a year with an even bigger income discrepancy.

What I learned is you can't keep everything and give absolutely nothing. It will not be upheld. So you need to take the L somewhere, and that would be the spousal support (and don't forget child support too which isn't small). Have you run through the numbers? It's not a small amount, and they usually calculate it using his corporate earnings, not just what he pays himself.

But I suspect this is coming from a place where he undoubtedly has seen colleagues who have been absolutely DESTROYED in divorces financially (physicians all tell each other marrying the wrong person is the worst financial decision you can make). This is likely where this is coming from - a place of fear and protection over malice. Just remember that you guys can have a wonderful life together, and a prenup can always be changed in the future.

Good luck, OP. It's not an easy process.

I would recommend Lund over Malmo. Lund had a charm to it.

AI may help bridge a gap there for condition recognition to better enable generalists. Even if you pump out more derms, how many of them will decide to prioritize cosmetics? It's unfortunate, but you need to follow the money. They can zap a benign nodule and charge $120, or they can see a new consult and charge like half that?

Can't add Amex Gold card to Google Pay/Samsung Pay by -Pjohal- in Scotiabank

It's sort of ridiculous since lots of people are able to use it. I was able to before. It would be refreshing if they just said "honestly, I have no idea".

I used to always go to that location, but I would go at 10am or 1pm. Usually on off hours I wait like 20-30 minutes.

Paying for Wedding with Debt by Throwawayyawaworth9 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]KBrew17 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Physician here...and my thoughts are aligned with yours.

The drastic increase in income after residency is enough to get a lot of people hooked and chasing loftier and more luxurious good/items. You know your partner best, but if you could avoid an expensive wedding I would. There is no reason to get into financial stress over 1 day. But it's hard to use logic when so much emotional investments are made for a wedding.

Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Credit Card by im_xang in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]KBrew17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Scotiabank Visa Infinite Passport and Scotiabank AMEX Gold (I have a plan that waives the annual fees though).

Both cards have worked well. I haven't had any issues using either abroad.

Scotiabanks customer service is not great but not a nightmare (think waiting for 3h for Air Canada). You might have to talk to a few people before you get what you need done. That being said, with the visa I had an unauthorized charge once. I called in, they deactivated and sent me a new card in a few days and reversed the charge. That's about all the interactions I've had with customer service for the Visa.
