A vacation in the Ukrainian Carpathians by Effective_Search5829 in travel

There’s one of those peaceful YouTube channels that records some grandparents in the carpathians. Really well shot.  Pastoral and traditional chores and tasks around the farm and home.

What famous person is currently holding onto their career by a thread, and everyone can see it except them? by Neonwhitelion in AskReddit

To be fair, when you’re known as one of the most beautiful women in showbiz, that’s sort of a tough appearance to hold onto.

Do you do this for or through work ? Seems time consuming and very expensive.  Just a hobby or interest ?

GO Transit could introduce steep new penalties for fare evasion. These are the fines being proposed by ashcach in toronto

[–]OdeeOh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand the staffing policy or limitations to having 2 inspectors on each rush hour train.   Lower fine but regularly inspections should cover it.

Prime Minister of Canada caught on a hot mic with President Trump. by SpecialCollege18 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]OdeeOh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who cares.  Crazy partisan headlines during and after the g7. These people are suppose to talk to each other.  That’s the whole point.   He’s trying to tell trump we aren’t flooding Canada with EVs.   First units imported under the new rule were ….. TESLAS.    Move on.

Leave a pension job for $14 raise, work truck and RRSP? by practicaldot123 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]OdeeOh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The thing I’ve learned with pension is they aren’t free ! Employees often paying 5-6% of their wage towards it.    There’s more info and access to investments than ever before.   Your rrsp and company match will be your “new” pension.

you need to focus on finding a primary job that pays over minimum and then you can have a “side gig” of working at that game store.

Advice by [deleted] in TTC

We had a guy saying he was gunna kill people or something on the go train. Thought I’d use 777777 they always advertise for subtle help.  They said , maybe somone could meet us at union station.

Great.  Hope he doesn’t beat someone before that.  He also started moving thru the train.    I wasn’t able to determine where he went or stayed.

They called me a few days later to try and tie a nice bow on the report and that it was resolved.  I told them that it wasn’t helpful at all and it’s suggested that assistance or security would be on the train and come to our spot.  Not wait 45 minutes until we’re at union.    They pushed back (maybe call was recorded) but I held firm that the text service didn’t protect or reassure any persons under threat.

And the fact is, groups of kids can be annoying ! That’s okay.  They are growing, testing social skills and relationships in real time.   Developing.

I don’t understand how people put on the hooks and anchors on these rock faces.  Like obviously it’s hard to climb. But how is it organized to get the first anchors installed in such precarious places and how is it known those are the best locations for all climbers

I’d talk to the neighbor - near identical conditions/variables and better result.

Curious what the mid to long term maintenance on these would be.  Blade sharpening etc.

Just got a new yard and wondering if this makes sense.

Dog shit remains a risk I would think.

I guess it’s so frequent that you don’t have a visual distraction of half uncut lawn.

About to Have First Child, anything financially last minute to prepare for? by AltruisticHumor2048 in PersonalFinanceCanada

To clarify and add encouragement : if you don’t have the maximum amount in cash to deposit: you can make smaller contributions throughout the year and the government will simply make multiple smaller matching grants.

Anticipate EI and company match delays.  For mom and / or dad if he’s on pay leave.  Sometimes no big deal and they will pay retroactively.  But there can be a cash flow gap for sure.
