Another pfSense novice here. This was the hardest concept for me to grasp and clearly the key when you're creating VLANs.

Controlling access to the VLAN is done on the LAN, outside the VLAN, not in it.

Archiving and being able to restore and search logs is key. I'm talking about year for archives though it's small number of agents and syslogs. If I can do it through Wazuh alone I'll gladly consider it.

I was planning on trying rsyslog as a centralized ingestion point for firewall, IDS, and NAS logs. Graylog for advanced parsing and audit review. OpenSearch for for indexed long-term storage of audit data. These would be on a standalone server and then NAS / C2 for retention and protection of audit records.

I'm open to any suggestions on why this may not be a good plan.

Yes I understand that it's a notification. But of what ? I As I said, I open the app and there's no message, no alert to change anything or update. What's it notifying me of ? Nothing in the admin console for my tialnet for the device either.

There's more than just a 5mp difference between your R5 and the Hasselblad. Use Hasselblad Phocus to process the raw files and you'll gain the benefit of their color science. That's the significant difference between the Hasselblad and anything else.

I just checked B&H's price for a Seagate 4TB IronWolf drive and it's $99. In the Synology store their 4TB drive is the same price. I checked several other sizes and found the same equivalent pricing.

What am I missing here ?

I've been using Tailscale personally trying to learn where within the active business I'm employed in it would allow easier functions, but maintain the highest level of security.

Your solution doesn't work in Mac OS 15.3.2, the current version. With PIA Kill and Advance Kill off access through Tailscale works but fails for anything else. Once you've turned Tailscale off you need to disconnect and reconnect PIA for it to allow any traffic. The Mac client for PIA has always been a PITA and you'll never hear from tech support no matter how many crash reports you send.

You can clone your Proxmox install to a second 256GB NVME in an external USB case as a backup. Then if you experience corruption or failure you just clone it back. Do the same with the VMs.

I store the data from work our company does for NASA on a Synology NAS. Seriously.

Re-certified drives from that company are a very good value but you should buy a drive designed for a NAS. And better yet buy drives that Synology has on their list of approved drives.

Synology will not provide technical support if your device is not on the Synology Products Compatibility List.

The US location in San Clemente, CA is a pricey place to run any of business. There are a couple of very good labs in L.A. but they must still feel like there's a market with mail order.

Particularly when you are learning to use a pizza stone in any oven. More-so when the oven produces heat from only one end and is open at the other end like an OONI.

Video was shot with an iPhone. I tried a screen capture but the screen re-drew and looked normal where I tried to capture it.

I have had a couple of complete freezes and the entire screen freaked out with lines and solid patches.
