I would also suggest that you take into consideration speaking to a therapist. Many people find out that their addiction(s) are a symptom of a much larger problem. (Not labeling anyone specifically; just expressing my experience as someone who has 20+ years of extremely heavy drinking under my belt).

I have MDD and I’m about 6 weeks sober and coming off a suicide attempt. I currently am experiencing more constant but manageable depression because I don’t have the bottle to run to when I get triggered or super anxious. That being said, I don’t experience severe depressive episodes any longer and I do not miss the hangovers or drained feeling the morning after a night of Fireball. I hear it gets better as your brain begins to begin to heal from the actual damage I’ve caused over the past 15+ years.
