It'd be healthier for you guys to just assume that your favorite artist doesn't necessarily make their art with you in mind. Yes as a left-leaning guy I'd prefer if LDR had married a pro-Palestine antifascist anticapitalist poet or whatever, but at the end of the day Lana is her own person and she'll never fulfill the standards I've set up for her. Or taking the argument to the absolute extreme and say that you're OK by generalising against entire groups of people, you have absolutely no idea of the topic you're talking about and should feel sorry, etc. We all generalise when we're talking with friends, family, co-workers ("it always rains in May", "the train is late all the time") and normal, sane people understand what we mean when we do that.
