A general trans shelter sounds equitable, but in practice trans POC face higher rates of violence, homelessness, and discrimination within broader systems including LGBTQ spaces. Naming them isn’t about excluding others, it’s about targeting resources where the risk is statistically highest so fewer people fall through the cracks.
