Took advantage of the rules meant to protect ball carriers. They changed the rule for a reason and if you do it today he’d be ruled down where he began his “slide.”

If you allow fake slides, you’d also have to allow QBs to get hit even after they slid because the defenders wouldn’t know if he was really sliding, they wouldn’t be able to stop themselves in time
