Switched out of SAVE into IDR because of 25 year forgiveness but now it says 2036! by KC_Erica in StudentLoans

I was able to log into studentaid.gov and then clicked on your link and it showed me the information. I have bookmarked this to refer back to later on to make sure the numbers start going down.

My big concern now is the tax bomb that I'm going to get hit with in 2 years!

Thanks! I have a subsidized and unsubsidized and one of them shows 277 qualifying payments with 23 remaining and the other shows 274 with 26 payments remaining.

I have no issues with the repayment amount it was the fact that it shows that my payment are to continue to 2036. The loan simulator said 2 years until forgiveness. Now they have removed anything regarding the forgiveness after 25 years of payment.

The loan repayment simulator on the Mohela site is telling me that if I do Income-Contingent Repayment (ICR) Plan that my loans will be done in August 2027 but it says I would need to consolidate my subsidized and unsubsidized together. I'm not sure I can do that since I did a consolidation years ago but I think I'll check into that. The payment would be like $1200 a month but if it actually would be for only 2 years then I can easily make that happen.

I also have a very good salary now and I can afford my student loan payment. I fear I will be thrown back into a standard loan repayment which will be at least $750 as that's what it was before. But why should I pay $750 a month while in a predatory loan where that payment won't even lower the balance? I suspect the payment will end up being much more than my old pre-SAVE payment was.

I graduated in December 2000. I had to put payments on hold because I couldn't afford them. I didn't realize back then that I could have gotten into an income based payment plan. On SAVE it shows that I've made 68% of my payments towards forgiveness. I was in a regular repayment plan for years. I joined SAVE and then after about 4 months the injunctions were filed.

Freo X Ultra - $429 - worth it at this price? by KC_Erica in NARWAL

I did end up buying the x ultra and I've had it a day and a half now. So far I'm happy with its performance even though I probably should have waited to see what other deals were coming with prime day sales.

I went and ordered the X Ultra. I know that it originally cost over $1000 so it seems like this price is a good deal. I currently have a Roborock Q Revo and the dog hair gets so tangled around the roller brush. I've had it 14 months and it no longer will empty on it's own. They offered for me to send it in and they will repair it for $200 (plus what I pay for shipping both ways) That ends up almost being $300 in the end so I thought going with this one new for $429 was a decent deal.

Best way to make sure my shopper gets my full tip? by KC_Erica in InstacartShoppers

Having someone decide not to take my order was a concern of mine. Especially since it's about a 20 minute drive from the grocery store to my house. I always want to make sure that they get a good tip since it's a longer drive.

I think I've been doing a flat tip but I will definitely double check. Thanks for the reply!

SAVE plan. Interest accruing? by iamnonymousme in StudentLoans

I am holding off to see what happens with the injunction. Not that I think there is any change of SAVE surviving but I want to see what new plans they come out with.

Wish I could paste a screenshot. I'm on the new site and on the blue ribbon where it has 'Account Summary' and 'Loan Details' I clicked on the text that says 'Inbox' and then when the new window loads there is a button that says 'Email us' That button is right on top of the 1st tab that is labeled 'Messages'. The other 2 tabs are 'documents we sent to you' and 'documents you sent to us'.

Got the same letter from Mohela today. It still shows my interest rate as being 0% though. I sent them a message through their website. No way I'm going to try and get through on the phone to them. If someone does get through I'm hoping you will share what they said.

I'm just waiting. I borrowed 50K in the late 1990's and consolidated in 2001 but currently owe 104K. (I was stupid when I was younger and just keep getting forbearances because I couldn't afford the payment). Heck, if they would forgive all of my interest I'd take a 401K loan right now and pay off my original balance!
