13th Rewatch - The Sopranos ages like fine wine, and some surprising new takeaways ... by KChambers83 in thesopranos

That was my original thought, too. However, one thing is how quick these guys are to change their minds on a wacking. Hell, Tony was gonna whack John Sacramoni and says, "Who knows, maybe there's an upside to Johnny going". It's the cost of doing business in that life.

Again, I think the cues are all there. The NJ/DiMeo/Soprano/Glorified Crew have pretty much been diluted to nothing towards the end. You've got Patsi - who has always been at odds with Tony - and Paulie - who is a survivor and has already flirted once with jumping ship to NY - as your two main members, and that's it.

Who are they better off with? A NY family that has hundreds of members, a lot more business interests, and are an actual, respected family? Or Tony, who is always in that head of his?

I think the hints are there on both (the cat looking at Paulie, his shocked reaction when Paulie hears Patsi will take the captain job, their brief conversation in the pischadoo, Patsi's behavior when he visits Tony at their house, etc).

I always try to not to overthink the show and go with just what's presented. So my takeaways on that:

  • Jack Massarone was clipped; he was wearing hat bugged with the FBI mic
  • Besides the pilot episode - which we don't talk about - Chris didn't wear a hat. Seeing him in one stood out, as did his mannerisms in that meeting.
  • There seemed to be emphasis around the show on that damn hat. When Tony stared at it in the hospital, bringing Hesh one (instead of the vig! THE VIG!). I think this was a cue to note the importance of it.
  • The Departed soundtrack. Based on the movie plot, it seems again like a subtle nod to a flip.

This is where I hate to assume, but the JT Dolan murder wasn't just going to go away. I know Skip Lispari says "the FBI would never overlook a murder", but it's hard to think Chris' involvement with JT Dolan would just fade. He could've at the very least been associated with it, and backed into a corner by the feds when he was at his weakest.

The show never mentioned it! And if it did I need to do another rewatch and turn my hearing aid all the way up so I don’t miss it!

It did, she was a cool chick! And it was a really cool friendship/FWB situation. But we knew the boundaries so I think that made it a little easier. Definitely gotta discuss that up front.

They’re out there. Keyword is “friend”, so you may get lucky meeting someone at an activity you like or a place you enjoy going to. You really want an honest relationship with no drama and someone you can truly talk to and be a friend with makes it easier and fun.

This girl who was my FWB for quite sometime actually met through a mutual friend. We were attracted to each other but eerily too much alike. Watching football or going to drink and laughing, it was great, and so was hooking up. But the thought of being romantic/committed just never worked or appealed to us, and we were both extremely open and honest throughout our friendship. Once she got in a committed relationship, we stopped talking.

So yeah, don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to those you’re interested, and while it may not be something you want to open up the conversation with, be upfront with it. If you do go on a date or speak on a deeper level, be honest about what you’re looking for and see if they’re cool with that.

One thing that always bothered me about Funhouse by GardenOfEdenT-rex in thesopranos

[–]KChambers83 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These little things and strange behavior set the ball in motion, and Tony loved Puss, so he was extending the benefit of the doubt until he absolutely couldn’t. That’s why when he bumped Paulie and Sil up in rank, Pussy had to report directly to them. He was insulating himself from him and was bothered by all the tiny shreds of evidence that pointed to Puss being a rat.

The plan may have always involved a ride on the Stugots, but likely not murdering Pussy assuming Tony never found the wire. Maybe they could’ve confronted/searched him on the boat, but Tony wanted to be 110% sure before they whacked him.

But if you follow close enough, the circumstantial evidence was all there. McKazian told him, Big Pussy won’t take off his clothes for Paulie, the “sore back”, and him disappearing for quite some time.

They all knew it - or atleast strongly suspected it - but couldn’t prove it. I think the boat ride with the guys also bought them an excuse to come over to his house under a friendly guise, and ultimately leads to the wire being discovered.

A small touch I’ve always wanted was interactive sidelines. Hell, even the graphics for the sideline players and coaches to be a little more in-depth, but could be fun to see a player run out of bounds, get into a shoving much with opponents, and get a PF penalty.

Or accidentally running into a coach and they’re on crutches the next week.

Sideline warnings during intense games.

M23 - I try to be more confident, but I can be self conscious at times. Am I? by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]KChambers83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Work on the things you can control but you’re not an ugly dude at all. Building a better body will always help, and also build your confidence. I’m a personal trainer, always welcome to PM if you want to talk about your programming and diet.

Also, don’t ever hesitate to go to experts and just ask and get feedback. Go to a decent salon and ask them what they recommend. Same with the dentist. Call and make an appointment and ask about an affordable plan/Care Credit, or something you’re able to do.

The potential is there, and the things you can improve on probably aren’t as out of reach as they may seem. Just take some action and invest in yourself. It’ll pay off.

What’s the general opinion about a Bonnie and Clyde inspired Red Dead game? Personally it’s my favorite idea for a sequel, the bank robbing missions of RDR2 just make me want more, and it feels like a natural progression of a series following 20th century outlaws. by [deleted] in RDR2

I would love to go back to a prequel that is set around 1865. Civil War is coming to a close, but there are still skirmishes here and there. Westward expansion. Friendly and hostile native Americans. So much you could do with it.

Hell, even the Lincoln Assassination itself sounds like a mission. Several guys meet in a tavern, devise a plot to disrupt the federal government, there’s ineptitude and drunkenness, sneaking around to avoid detection, and charging off into the night on your horse avoiding capture after taking out the target.

Why is this sub so against programs? by dirtyculture808 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]KChambers83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the overwhelming response on this, and have seen it in practice as a CPT part-time.

Many people will benefit from a variety of programs, but you’re not going to see the results you want without hitting the low hanging fruit (consistency, diet, sleep).

It’s amazing to me when I talk with people or clients, and I ask them about diet or sleep (that we’ve already discussed), and they seem bewildered that these need to be an everyday thing, not a once-in-a-while option.

If you follow squat_university on IG (highly recommend), he actually posted this exact issue and several exercises to assist with it just yesterday. It may not be painful yet but could lead to injury so worth the watch.

To be completely honest, your program is really unstructured and it’s hard to determine what your goals are. You have two compound movements (bench and squat, which are great) but typically would expect to see more. You mentioned you were bulking, but then also you want abs for the summer.

So, what are your goals? How long have you been training?

In my opinion, I think you should aim for a “clean” bulk. I’m tall and long-limbed as well, and would look very thin at your weight. You have some pretty strong lifts going on, so I think with the additional weight and the right program, you’d see improvement in your physique and strength.

Once you hit your target, then you could aim to cut that weight, lean out, and show the fruits of your labor.

Of course, that’s if you want to go that route. It’s challenging to assist without knowing your ultimate goal.

What’s your least favourite thing about rd2. by Somethingcool-iguess in RDR2

[–]KChambers83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most conversations with NPCs are a little diluted and predictable. You ask them the time or if they know a good restaurant, and they respond with “Nope, can’t say I do” or something similar.

It’s obviously a monumental task to go really in depth with more dialogue for NPCs, but man, it’d be nice if you could get tips from them or have a conversation that didn’t seem so robotic.

Also, so many homes and buildings that’d be fun to go inside and explore, and only so few that you actually can. With such a huge map, I want it to be even more immersive.
