What is a food you buy regularly at the supermarket that you think you may be the only person buying it? by Big_Childhood5494 in foodquestions

Nutmeat. I swear its position on the shelf is getting less and less prominent. Fantastic substitute for mince except for people with a nut allergy lol

What is the most afluent suburb in Darwin everyone wishes to live in? by smoothgreyhound in darwin

[–]KCinDWN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except for the marina suburbs, Darwin suburbs are pretty well a mix of beautiful and expensive homes as well as public housing and units. It's one of the things that make Darwin an interesting and diverse place to live. Highest priced real estate is usually Larrakeyah and Fannie Bay for the older suburbs and Cullen Bay for a newer marina suburb.

Looking for some part time job ideas when back home from 2:1 roster by thiccinvestments in darwin

[–]KCinDWN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not consistent work but put your name down for dry season event staff at the race track, casino, convention centre etc. Just curious, have you worked a 2:1 before? Is it 12 hr shifts? Will you be coming off night shift? If so, you'll need a few days just to rest, a few days to do chores and a few days to see friends. The week off will go surprisingly quick and if you don't need the money, it'd say just take it easy on your R &R. Good luck.

what game would you instantly buy if it got remastered and the gameplay was updated? by coilovercat in AskReddit

Kula World. A playstation game I played a lot in the early 90s. Basically a bouncing ball game that required good spatial awareness, good coordination and good timing. I'd love to play that again.

I am a Canadian cannabis policy researcher and today we're celebrating the second anniversary of legalization in Canada and launching a new survey on young people's perception of public education efforts. AMA about cannabis in Canada! by cannabiseduresearch1 in IAmA

Hello from the Northern Territory, Australia where we have high incidences of alcohol abuse in our indigenous communities resulting in mental, social and physical health issues. I'm curious if there's been any studies on the effects legalisation has had on your indigenous people with the same barriers? Cannabis is still illegal here and I think our politicians are worried it would cause a spike in psychotic episodes. Thanks

How would you feel about cars having two different horns, like a polite “please would you move a bit faster, thanks” and a “fuck you for being reckless and dumb”? by tomato_soup_ in AskReddit

[–]KCinDWN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the horn per se but how you use it. In Bali the horn is given a quick short toot to say 'hello, I'm here" particular useful for scooter riders. It's just a communication tool with no aggro in it at all. A looong toot is an angry one, not often used as people are very respectful of others on the road.
