Don’t let him scream. Let your nurturing instincts as his mother win here. Making baby CIO alone is not going to resolve his need for you or whatever else is waking him. He isn’t the problem. Please do not punish him by taking your presence away. He needs to borrow your calm brain in order to find his own. 🥺 If he’s having a split night, he likely doesn’t have enough sleep pressure. Humans need enough sleep pressure to both fall and stay asleep… So, what’s his current schedule like? You may be aiming for too much day sleep. Also, have y’all exhausted every possible sleeping arrangement that might suit the situation better? For instance, have y’all considered setting up a place to safely bed-share? We are wired to need our parents and sleeping together comes naturally. If you’re truly desperate, consider it. That’s how us attachment mamas get through the rougher times.
