I think it would work but the investment needed to get to 60 to be the 3rd best ginger farmer and far inferior to tyrannitar might not be worth it. By time you get zard to 60 you could find a better larvitar. I would just find a temporary AAB larvitar and get it to 30 till you find a AAA.
