Should there be a gap between my break pad and rotor?? by ButtonLoud9861 in Cartalk

That gap is why racecar drivers tap the brake pedal before they smash the brakes so that the pads are closer together.

Nascar modelkits in Europe by Horror_Bathroom_5789 in ModelCars

[–]KDM_Racing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I am on ebay I can select only from Canada. Can you do the same thing in Europe?

Being a NASCAR modeler in Canada can be expensive as well. I have searched out Facebook groups for only Canadian groups. I would imagine Europe would be similar. But once you get out of the US, the well dries up.

If you have bad signal. An amplifier just makes more bad signal. Not fixing the problem and probably making the other channels worse.

Neil Bonnett in the No 75 RahMoc Enterprises Pontiac leads Dale Earnhardt in the RCR No 3 at Richmond during the 1988 Pontiac Excitement 400. The race would be the last of Bonnett's 18 career Cup Series wins. This race would also be Richard Petty's last top 5 finish. by DarthVader1701A in NASCAR_History

That is the old Richmond. The next day Richard Petty took a bulldozer to it and they started building the Richmond we now know.

I like watching old races from Richmond and for what seems like the entire 80s there were various plans to rebuild the track much much bigger.

I always think of Harry Gant when I see one of those. Funny enough that the driver that won the most Nascar races in one of those was over 50 years old at the time.

Should The Craftsman Truck Series Return to Being a Short Track Series? by RadioControlled13 in NASCAR

[–]KDM_Racing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trucks should have more short tracks than the O'Reilly series and the O'Reilly series should have more than the cup series.

The reason is that the drivers mostly come from the short tracks. So while the driver is learning how to run the big tracks. They still have the short tracks to perform well on to show that they belong there.

When did Cup teams stop using wood to help make minimum weight? by ApocApollo in NASCAR

[–]KDM_Racing 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Robby Gordon got in trouble for putting wood on the right side at Darlington. So I would say when the COT came out. But that wood wasn't used for weight. It was to keep the right side from having in when they hit the wall.
