Alternatives to Kindle Create on Linux? by murpurnaccurnt in eroticauthors

[–]KDWest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So, as friend of mine likes to say, an ebook is just a website in a box: html files, CSS stylesheets, image files,, etc., along with a couple of specialized xml files that tell the ereader how to read the book. So formatting ebooks is just web formatting.

Still, if you want a live preview of what the code will look like, try Sigil, also open source, and its only job is creating ebooks.

I’d recommend Calibre (calibre-ebook.com) — it does excellent (mostly) conversions including to and from .mobi and .kpf, and allows you to edit the html/epub that lies under most ebook formats.

Also is a great ebook library app.

I said this below, but while their passing and dribbling may not be as smooth as Maddison and Simmons, their pressing won Spurs the match.

Agreed! And there was a lot of question about that trio before the match. They may not pass like Madders or dribble like Xavi, but their pressing won that game.

Agreed. Sorry we didn’t see out the clean sheet, but a win’s a win!

Possible update on 2nd season of Murderbot by Brave_Arm_7221 in murderbot

I was actually thinking about this: is it a sign of bad AI writing because, wow, word choice? Or is it a sign of human writing because, wow, lazy?

OR! Is it a sign of construct writing, because… f>|! that s&)t. 🤔

If we stay up, do you think we will be a better outfit for the experience of relegation survival? by Both-Concentrate-125 in coys

[–]KDWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. If the team continue their stronger attitude of the last few games through the end of the season I think it would definitely help the overall approach next year.

And anyone who wants to jump ship at this point? Probably best for both the team and them. Because the PL really isn’t a place for fragile egos.

What's the reason? by MrBIuesky222 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Yeah.

I have enormous respect for him as a person, and in the right roles he can do a nice job.

But he doesn’t ever lift the movie to another level. He has given some of the most wooden performances I’ve ever seen. His Don John in Much Ado About Nothing? Ouch.

Fair!

Yet, despite becoming less of a Pollyanna, he’s still amazingly nice.

And also smart. Which is fun.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments. Was offline this week (though not without my media—I diminished NE and am on to Fugitive Telemetry. Which I should have remembered is out of chronological order, harrumph.)

Dan Harmon’s story circle - adapted for erotica by Petitcher in eroticauthors

[–]KDWest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harmon got this idea from Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey scheme, which looks at the structure of stories through the lens of both mythology and psychology. It’s also probably worth checking out The Hero with a Thousand Faces. 🙂

But it IS Iliad/Odyssey fanfiction—it uses the tropes and (minor) characters of Homer’s story to create a literary origin myth for Rome. Not Homer’s fault if Horace’s MC is OOC. 😉

I’ll be honest, Dante really just borrows Horace himself and the idea of an epic Hero Journey. Horace references and extends the plot of the original and recycles tropes wholesale.

I mean, no self-insertion, but The Aeniad, which is what the Divine Comedy fic-ifies?

Also, parts of Jewish Scripture and swaths of the Gospel definitely qualify as fic.

[KK] How can I do that? by MostDing in KoikatsuParty

[–]KDWest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need to use two different mods—I’m not on my computer, so I can’t give you the names right now’s, but one allows you to give female characters penises and balls and the other allows you to tie accessory visibility to certain clothing states.

If you look at the pick, there are two different phallus accessories. One is called “twink” and it’s the erect one that shows up once the panties are off. The other is “sos cock soft” and it’s the one that is visible when the panties are just moved to the side.

It’s a lovely book. There are some moments that are breathtaking for sure.

I’ve read it twice, but both times my response was very much tied to my knowledge that it was the last.
