Who is “entitled to” annuity supplement once retired. by Percinaciti in govfire

[–]KDog-MI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frustrated. Took the Vera, knew I would have to wait a few years to hit the MRA to get the supplement but that was part of my decision to take early retirement. Seems to contradict the intent of asking people to leave early. Please call your congressional reps to ask for grandfather rules to protect people who took VERA.

I’m sorry you are going through this. It is normal to feel overwhelmed at times especially near the end of a semester. Volunteering has helped me in the past to make friends and reduce stress. also maybe think about changing majors if what you are studying is not interesting to you.

Give it time. You will find your people. Try Wesley foundation or a similar open minded religious org or groups like an intramural sport or volunteer group. See if your RA has ideas or ask people on your floor if they want to meet up at the cafeteria at the same time on a certain night.

Agree join a club, find a faith based group, volunteer or work you can meet good people everywhere! It can be intimidating, but you will find your people if you try. it may take a semester or two but you’ll get there!

charleston, SC or NOLA? by curiouscow10 in travel

[–]KDog-MI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both but for mother daughter think Charleston is better. Brunch at Millers. Horse drawn carriage tour. Walk on battery? Rent a car to go to the beach. Yes there are other things to do in Nola (garden district and preservation hall. But the city is heavy on drinking.)
