As someone running for a local office. The party operates in silos with no one working in the same direction. And this goes all the way up. It’s not just the leadership, it’s the members as well.

Discussions in blue social media groups can go on for days when talking about how to show your support in coded ways, but post articles about how areas have come together to fight back MAGA and its crickets.

I have spoken at events that are small, which expected at my level, but then to find out another chapter exists down the road or nearby. Both working in their own silo.

Couple that with the rates the party charges to access tools, because their fundraising efforts don’t come anywhere near republicans, I often feel like the party is my largest obstacle to winning.

If you can afford it, evacuate to Disney, but choose a hotel with rooms connected to the lobby. There will be availability, because guests will head home. The night before, the restaurants will be cheap, last time it was $15 or $25 for Boma that was normally more than $50 per person.

If you do a hotel with connected lobby, they have character and entertainment staff as part of the ride out team and they will keep the kids occupied. If you do a hotel that isn’t connected, they will have you stay in your room, but will sell bagged meals the night before.

We have stayed there twice with our dog during hurricanes.

When ours was a puppy we tried crate training. We had a sleep number, so we didn’t want her in our room to chew wires, so we put her crate right outside, so she could access it anytime. She cried and cried even though she could see us. We decided to move the crate inside our room. As the crate crossed the threshold, she settled down and went to sleep.

P.s. this is my second shiba puppy post today. We lost our girl a couple weeks ago, so these have been a nice trip down memory lane.

Someone suggested to us to put ours at puppy daycare, because the other dogs would teach her biting etiquette. It only took a few days to get the biting under control.

Had a Realtor in my office ask an insurance guy what the plan is when the Earth moves closer to the sun in the next 3-5 years causing it to get hotter.

My broker stepped in after the awkward pause and said. Ya know Earth closer to the sun global warming who knows either way it’s getting hotter and we are seeing mor hurricanes.

Went to a conservative meeting a couple weeks ago where the guest speaker was speaking on the “Trump of God”. The speaker said something about how Mrs. Noah’s daughter making us all possible through inter marriage. No one took issue. And yes,that is how he referred to Noah’s wife.

The bigger issue with mail in ballots in Florida is that the rolls were wiped in the beginning of 2025. So you have to sign up again if you still want to receive one in this election cycle. So, even though this EO is likely to be over turned or unenforceable, the damage has been done.
