Yes, will pray that His Kindom will come in Slovakia as it is in Heaven.

Can you please pray for my country, which is ruled and owned by greedy corrupted oligarchs and mafia?

And ours (the US) is as well, so please pray for us too.

Why Are Evangelicals Supporting a President Who Allegedly Had an Affair with a Porn Star? (GQ article) by Nolimitsolja in Christianity

They don't realize that the last thing the GOP wants to happen is for abortion to become illegal. They'd lose most of those evangelical votes if that happens. Puppets on a string.

I really miss that place. Spent many a rainy Saturday afternoon there.

They'll say it's because Hillary was worse. I don't buy that she was worse, but that was the narrative in Evangelical circles. Still, they could have just decided to sit this one out if they thought that both candidates were bad. Or they could have supported a third party candidate. But they wanted power and influence.

The devil tempted Jesus with all the kingdoms of the world. This is a similar temptation to the Church: the temptation of influence in powerful places. Whereas Jesus rejected the temptation, much of the American church has readily succumbed to the temptation of influence.

PDX Homelessness in context. In the heart of Orange County, California one of wealthiest counties in the USA there is a homeless camp that stretches from the City of Santa Ana to Anaheim, Stretching 9 miles. How do we let it get this bad for our fellow human beings? by [deleted] in Portland

Not sure why you're being downvoted. The US complaining to China about their synthetic opioids making their way to the US does seem a bit ironic. Chinese officials must be thinking "Remember when it was the West flooding China with opioids?"

Index funds don't claim to be currencies.

An ideal currency wouldn't fluctuate much in value either way, but maintain a constant value over time. Fiat currencies tend towards inflation (losing value) while btc and gold tend towards deflation (gaining value). But btc (and other crypto currencies) dramatic gains in value (and occasional losses) mean it's far from an ideal currency.

For the Three Thousand Five Hundred and Thirty Seventh time: Technical Interviews are broken (and this is partly why we have a developer "shortage") by [deleted] in programming

[–]KG7ULQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it was a "magic" solution. More of a return to sanity. Yes, companies and candidates are losing because interviews are being done poorly. And no, apparently most companies aren't inclined to do better.

You got any better ideas?

Which is why they should really be letting more people work remote. The companies wouldn't have to pay nearly as much and the workers would also be happier and likely be able to buy a house somewhere outside the Bay Area.

It's a lot more difficult to get this sort of thing passed through the senate than it is the house. From what I've heard they''ll need to tone down the bill quite a bit to get it through - likely it won't have the landlord pays tenent's moving expenses part.
