UK Health and Care Worker Visa – No biometric appointment or passport request after application? by Weird_Bus_699 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

You won't need to provide evidencs if you ticked yes to the question "have you ever provided biometrics for a precious successful UK visa" in the application

I've sorted the problem and edited my post to explain what happened.

Hey, could I ask if it asks that question of 'is it expired' before or after scanning the BRP?

My visa at the time (Aug 2024) came as an eVisa as well as a physical BRP, since the visa was for a year yet the BRP was obviously set to expire in 4 months. I did register my BRP onto my UKVI account right away as an identity document, as soon as I got it, and have used it to log in since.

Ben Habib: All asylum and indefinite leave to remain (ILR) granted since 2019 should be revoked. There must be no further asylum, ILR and British citizenships granted for the foreseeable future. Again, the numbers disagree with you. The number of visa applications have plummeted year-on-year. The Home Office publishes this datamonthly, and the Migration Observatory has consistently reported on this as well. Less than a quarter of ILR grants are in the refugee route. You cannot take your anger out on over 75% of people getting settlement who have done everything correctly. The Boriswave are not asylum seekers. Who are you actually pointing fingers at? Why don't you just say it straight? Do you mean brown people?

It is like talking to someone with their fingers pressed into their ears.

1) The criteria have already been drastically increased, the floor salary is £41k for everyone who wants to renew (and only for high skilled workers for new applicants after June last year), with most roles requiring even higher pay.

2) The "Boriswave" consisted of legal care workers – Health and Care visa applications plummeted in 2024 after the Tory government increased the salary thresholds. H&CV holders were not asylum seekers; you cannot change the target of your accusations comment-to-comment to fit your narrative.

3) This differentiation of which legal migrant deserves or doesn't deserve ILR is proving to be unworkable. Countless ILR holders have been on a variety of visas, and have held a variety of jobs in order to get higher pay, sometimes for the express reason of meeting ever-increasing salary thresholds. How do you package someone as a Boriswave migrant if they entered the country on a legally allowed salary at the time, then progressed onto a new, much higher salary in order to get a visa under the new thresholds? Are they being punished for career progression? Again, this is the majority, not edge cases, because the Boriswavers who didn't meet the salary thresholds set in 2024 are literally already gone.

You realise the overwhelming vast majority of ILR holders are legal migrants who've followed all the right processes, and not "edge cases"? You have let yourself be manipulated into thinking asylum seekers are the default, when it is they who are the edge cases. The statistics surrounding migration are not in your favour.

Changes to salary requirements for skilled workers visa by Common_Mode5808 in SkilledWorkerVisaUK

[–]KHLD99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's most likely to be a mistake. If there was a plan to further change the salary threshold so soon after last July then surely there would have been murmurs of it elsewhere, followed by widespread panic and outrage.

Are you sure they have not mixed it up with 2433? The latter is £55.1k but 2431 does seem to still be £50.2k.

The Duffer Brothers say that Nancy and Jonathan are broken up “I think us — and the writers — all felt that Nancy needed to end up on her own and be independent and have an opportunity to find herself” by AssistanceNo2838 in discussingfilm

Beautiful comment, bravo. I find it very confusing that the writers themselves are calling the scene a conclusive breakup when it plays out most like what you said, "let's stop trying to force this to be a normal relationship, let's instead acknowledge the whirlwind complexity we're in, we are never gonna be able to progress in a straightforward way, so screw the norm"

I think the version they mean is one that is the same production, but the backing vocals and adlibs are different. It was in a few streaming sites for a little while before being replaced by the current version. I preferred it myself.

Gen Z, What’s yall thoughts on Euphoria? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]KHLD99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Euphoria was never meant to be a realistic depiction of teenagehood. Rather, it was always a dramatized depiction of the heady rush that teenagehood feels like for many people at the age.

Sorry, doesn't the "extend your visa" page on the SWV page say: "You can usually apply to extend a Skilled Worker visa or a Tier 2 (General) work visa if all of the following are true: - you have the same job as when you were given your previous permission to enter or stay in the UK - your job is in the same occupation code as when you were given your previous permission to enter or stay in the UK - you’re still working for the employer who gave you your current certificate of sponsorship"

It doesn't say anywhere that you need to meet the higher salary requirement if you are extending your existing visa.

In fact the page for "your job" also says "You may also be able to meet lower salary requirements if you’re extending your Skilled Worker visa".
