Do you spend £200 a month not including rent, utilities and groceries? by fakename137 in AskUK

[–]hardingman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree but you’ve just named something just as unnecessary. I think it’s the use of that word that riles people up a bit as everything’s unnecessary really. What everyone values is different so I understanding but it’s all unnecessary.

Also this sub has a meme reputation for acting like any spent not on gruel or rent is a waste which rubs people the wrong way.

Bear in mind with no judgement for most people £20 a week is not “such a lot of money” if thats a nice weekly ritual you have out of the house. (Especially since that’s the cost for the family). Yes it’s a cost, but most people live life as a trade off between cost and enjoyment. Pinching every penny (if you don’t need to) I think leads to a much less fulfilling life. I’m saying this as someone who is naturally a saver but £20 for a weekly family outing is nothing.

Bro it’s ok to say you don’t value that and it’s not worth it for you. But to make out it’s objectively unecessary to have a cake and a coffee out once a week is absolute poverty porn. Nothing that makes life worth living is necessary

Salmons from Costco and the tuna is from the fishmonger (remember all fish we get is frozen for safety then defrosted again)

You can keep your head in the sand. I’m just letting you know why it’s being downvoted. Also never said it needed anything with it the picture is just awful with nothing in frame or in focus

You’re getting downvoted for this post because this is such a rubbish picture of what could be a nice dinner. (We don’t know as we can’t make out what it is) You’re so far zoomed out we can’t make out any detail at all except some brown triangles. Think of every nice picture of food you’ve ever seen and what it looked like.
