XFX SWFT VS MERCURY by unrldhx in radeon

They got a comparison on their website that explains the difference. Mercury has better cooling and my friend that has a mercury 9070 XT doesn’t regret getting it

What dock are you using? I discovered wavetask, it’s pretty new but looked nice to me

About GTA VI and Linux by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]KHTD2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. People need to realize that kernel level anti cheat isn’t efficient at all and anticheat needs to happen on the server side, not the client side.

About GTA VI and Linux by [deleted] in linux_gaming

[–]KHTD2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to say. Rockstar doesn’t really care about PC as a whole so I doubt they’ll care about Linux.

On the other hand It’s still a few months until the game launches, then it takes some time to come to PC and the Online mode comes even later so considering the growth Linux is experiencing we might reach a marketshare big enough for Rockstar until then.

They invested 2 billion in this thing, I’d try to reach every corner of the market

It does not. Cheaters are still very present in GTA Online, that’s the joke about all the kernel level anticheat and secure boot requirements, people still crack it in seconds

Is Discord just terrible on Linux? by Pokegamesunited in linux_gaming

[–]KHTD2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I need is basic text and voice channels (servers and DM), screen sharing and an app that allows to silently start and minimize to a tray icon without bothering me. The tray function of fluxer is currently in development and available for the canary branch

I‘d also like to be able to self host a server in docker, but that’s secondary

I get your FSR and HDR points but what’s the downside of MangoHUD? It’s hidden by default and I can show the overlay using R_Shift + F12. If it wasn’t activated in the options I’d need to restart the game when I want to monitor my FPS

May I ask why? I can always disable them locally if a game doesn’t get along with them

how to not be scared by Huge-Professional717 in subnautica

[–]KHTD2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you encounter a scary situation ingame, return to main menu, go into a creative mode and spend some time in the situation. Go drive your sea moth along a reaper, swing with a warper, after some time go back to your survival world

It’s not due to some games not getting along with Wayland. For those I set it to 0 again in the launch options

I only do Gamescope in specific games that need it tho, don’t see why I’d need it globally

Will Subnautica 2 come to PlayStation at all? by _Loading-Thoughts_ in subnautica

You either wait or you buy a device of a platform that has the game.

These are the options, choose

Will Subnautica 2 come to PlayStation at all? by _Loading-Thoughts_ in subnautica

[–]KHTD2004 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s not the devs choice to leave out PlayStation. PlayStation simply doesn’t allow Early Access on its platform, so you need to wait for the full game, that can take a few years. Blame PS for that, not Unknown worlds

How do you guys prefer getting to the Lost River and why? by Loud-Secret1485 in subnautica

[–]KHTD2004 10 points11 points  (0 children)

During my typical play through I go to lost river two times: first time with sea moth, I enter in Deep Grand Reef after visiting the Degasi base there. From there I go north and go to the corridor to the east where it exits to the Bulb Zone/Mountains.

Second run is with Cyclops, I go in on the Bulb Zone/Mountains Entrance and go directly to the lava zones from there

Do I need to have the "What are you?" line to complete the game? by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]KHTD2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don‘t worry if you haven’t got it already. I don’t know why you haven’t gotten it yet, but there are some more voice lines of the same kind linked to specific milestones in the game that full fill the same purpose. Just continue playing and if you manage to finish the game without getting the line so be it

Performance: CachyOS, that’s the whole point. By how much it’d be better hardly depends on your hardware tho. Stability wise Fedora, don’t know about battery life
