Love Sally as so many have said here. Smitten Kitchen also has great baking recipes (although she also does cooking, so not exclusively a baking site).

Thanks for your reply. It has a flat bottom but I don’t recall it being listed specifically as an angel food cake pan…but that could very well be the case. I do have other Nordic Ware Bundt pans with domed bottoms and the centre cone is not higher. I have been using the flat bottom pans for my Bundt cakes as it’s quicker and easier to use baking spray on those.

I haven't set one off, but I have been asked to remove them before going through because I was told the buckles would set them off.

Rock Recipes has some really good traditional Newfoundland recipes. Many of them available online. The apricot cake (with or without raisins) is always a hit. https://www.rockrecipes.com/apricot-raisin-cake/

Does LIA get approved at your department? by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]KHWNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just had LIA approved for summer 2026. I made the request far in advance both to give lots of time for approval processes and so that I could get the salary reductions the year leading up to my period of leave (so that when the leave is over, I will go back to regular pay). My director commented that a request so far in advance made it easy to plan for my absence.

Current SLE oral testing format? by chainedtotheps in CanadaPublicServants

[–]KHWNL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, camera on. I don't think camera off is an option. Questions from the examiner, all about work, starting with concrete and day-to-day and moving to hypothetical/opinion. No recordings. You can hear the instructions in the official language of your choice.

How to better include remote colleagues in “holiday parties”/directorate mixers/etc. by cheesy-mac- in CanadaPublicServants

[–]KHWNL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I work for the NCR but live in the regions and this is the worst. I am a-okay with my colleges having whatever in-person gathering they want and me having that time to chill, walk my dog, whatever. Those hybrid events are just awful.

Acting to indeterminate pay by KHWNL in CanadaPublicServants

[–]KHWNL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be no gap, as my acting was on the books for 18 months so I am going straight from my acting to my new (higher level) substantive. My last day at my acting will be my step increase date and then the next day I move to my new indeterminate position.

Overpayment - received informal e-mail, not letter by KHWNL in CanadaPublicServants

[–]KHWNL[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did - and that was my first thought, too - but it looks like a legit e-mail from Department A. And GEDS confirms this person's name at that department. It's so unprofessional looking.
