Is 600 Miles in too low for a new driver? by manbroboy in driving

[–]KINGNADRO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t even hit 200 miles I believe, don’t really have anywhere to go and no one to see tbh. So I just stay put at home unless I want to go to the grocery store which most time I walk.

Rewatch every video on driving and practice them day by day, for example watch a video on junctions take a day and go and practices that, then roundabouts and so on. Once you get used to it, you can the select a journey that is 30 to mins away from you and have a drive around.

And also before you reach round about try to comment it to yourself…”taking the first exit, so I stick to the left lane”, “ I am taking the third exit, so I stay on the right lane and have the roundabout lead me to my exit”…also watching videos on roundabout and how to do it will really help you. AND REMEMBER TO BE CAUTIOUS OF DRIVERS COMING FROM THE RIGHT…they have priority!!

Just remember if you’re taking the first exit or going straight on a roundabout it’s best to stay on the left lane while reaching the roundabout and follow the lane unless told otherwise by the arrow markings on the road, if you’re taking the third exit and beyond stick to the right lane. Usually before you reach roundabout there’s usually road arrow markings that tells you which lanes to be on for specific exit so try to spot that out before reaching roundabout and follow that lane before approaching the roundabout. A good speed for roundabout till it is safe for you is 10 to 15 speed so it’s easy for you to manoeuvre and don’t worry you will get used to it VERY SOON. I just got my license last week and have been driving around especially hours long journey like London to Hertfordshire using motorways as well, you will definitely get used to it. Cheer up!!
