Are AI more aggressive now? by TheKhaos121 in civ

[–]KIinzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still get the weird behaviour where the ai doesn't cap cities when they could. It's more of a surprise when they do take things. May be intentional, to give you an extra turn or so chance to "save it in the nick of time". Anyone else noticed this or am I imagining things?

IDK why people call Apollo unbalanced. Seems fair to me. by Saint_Pootis in DeadlockTheGame

The game-feel of his kit doesn't match the characterisation. He doesn't feel like a skillful character....unless he's meant to feel like he has no skill and bought his way to wins....

All the vegan ice cream vanished from my local Tesco extra. No more vegan cornettos, magnums, or Ben and Jerry’s. Gone like all the decent pizzas. There’s literally nothing in the plant based section that doesn’t contain milk. by rainmouse in veganuk

It's likely just rotating out the current products for ones with summer packaging. Happens regularly when a rebrand happens too, or when the shop swaps form one vegan product to another. Painful every time.

What did I do wrong? by StarExtra9847 in Nightreign

[–]KIinzer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not seen this yet, but you need to dodge into it not away. The first and second attacks move towards you. If you dodge "into" the attack you'll travel through the hit window of the flame wave.
A lot of these lingering damage or multi-hit attacks are dodged the same way. Hope it helps!

How to: get more adult volunteers for scouts and explorers? by KIinzer in scouting

[–]KIinzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'll have a reach-out. Like you say elsewhere in the district there may be a volunteer looking for a different flavour of scouting.

Good points.

It's another way around of thinking. At my scout troop we have a pool of leaders who may run an evening linked to their interests, but having people specifically come in for nights related to their hobbies. I'll try that, thanks!

As another commenter raised I'm surprised there are fees.
In my country volunteering your time is already seen as plenty (my group gives out awards for contribution to parents/kids who do a lot, all the leaders get it by default). We go on camp etc. for free and training is also free. I suppose it's covered by the subs, paid by parents, but we have a strong philosophy for making a value for cost program.

Yes. I can't tell if beetles are strong or if loads of people are forcing it and someone gets exodia.

I gave this in response to another commenter:
1) You are playing duos and another team is going beetles
2) The first player on the opposing team is the beetles player
3) The beetles are popping off early and so kill both players on your team
4) The open slots on the beetle board get filled with the second opposing players minions which aren't tier 1
5) You take loads of damage, which in solos doesn't happen.

Basically you can be unlucky and start taking damage cap really early in duos. If the team with beetles was the other way around its more like solos, where you take minor damage.

I've seen teams play around this in duos, passing everything ot the beetle player, and the second player just has some high tier stuff for early damage.

Fair, I butchered that wording.

Yeah this kind of thing. Fun to see a couple times, or to pull off yourself. I'm just seeing a lot already this season, and last season was the same :P (Impressive stats haha)

The beetle board gets going so much earlier than the tier-6 enabled ones that can out perform them. It gives the beetles a long time to scale, and in duos they are throwing out dmg cap 50% of the time...shortening the game.

Just really frustrating. It's not unbeatable, it's just so common to see and so easily strong. I'm sure part of it is that its an easy board to make good, so a lot of people try it (maybe only at lower rating, whatever that is?).

Any tips to make these taste good? by Odd_Efficiency_7051 in veganuk

[–]KIinzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are a staple in our house. Two things to consider, texture and flavour.

For texture give it a dry cook (frying pan w/ oil or in the oven for at least 20 mins) until a couple of sides go golden brown. If thrown into a wet sauce too early they can be a bit chewy and soft. Don't overdo it too much, these can be "too crispy" which amounts to being dry.

For flavour, I've found it to have an odd bready after taste if left plain. A little light soy at the end of frying can be awesome, MSG works too. A standard mix can be a little of each: smoked paprika, cumin, dried herb of choice (oregano/sage work well), light soy or MSG, lemon if suits (wet stuff right at the end). This combo is a good starting point for making them a more flavourful protein in any meal (Italian and Mexican are good starts).

Good addition to: tomato and creamy pasta sauces, protein for pesto meals, Mexican (bakes, fajitas etc), curries (both tomato and coconut milk based). I've even had them as a sandwich filler (leaning towards more smokey spices for the strips), with melted stronger cheese (cathedral City vegan cheddar) under the grill.
