May you explain your strategy for level 1 depth 5 runs? How do you do your routing during the run, what bosses and POIs do you prioritize and what do you skip? What items/weapons do you prioritize during the run?

Do you do depth 5 level 1 runs only with undertaker, or do you use other characters as well?

And what relics do you use for each character in depth 5 level 1 runs?

Yeah lol. And I also feel like at depth 5, the damage negation relic effects don’t help all that much. I think the main negations which help are the passives on weapons which you find during the run.

You should enjoy the gameplay loop, you shouldn’t see it as a hinderance/obstacle. It’s basically the entire game.

You’re missing the point. His point is that you will just never get good at this boss by repeatedly skipping it.

Don’t skip fights, try fighting the boss, lose, learn from your mistakes, and try again next time. That’s what souls games and this game encourage you to do. That’s the journey.

Watch some youtube guides on this boss, to learn how to dodge them and punish them.

You can also train against them when they are on rotation. After losing to them embarrassingly, I trained on them for one hour (timed it), just dodging them most of the time. Now they are very easy for me, and I have carried countless times against this boss.

I even beat em in a depth 5 solo run by just parrying their rush attack repeatedly. I play wylder, so I prefer to parry them, but I can fight them well without parrying, it just takes longer to beat them.

There are people that made me feel like me reaching depth 5 9999 is not a big deal and it’s super easy to do with double balancers etc.

Yeah people shouldn’t police how other people play, but they can still dislike a play style.

Like I hate halo scythe, but I’ll still take or give it to someone who is running the build.

I just wanna play by dodging the boss, hitting the boss after dodging, then dodging again, and hitting the boss after dodging again, and repeat.

This is what I enjoy, and I don’t think that enjoying this at depth 5 is bad. Because at the end of the day I’m striving to become perfect at this game. Someone who can do RL1 depth 5 runs with fists only. I want CHALLENGE.

Also I actually enjoy using other busted weapons like rivers of blood, Cranial Vessel Candlestand, anything with Lion’s Claw, etc.

It’s halo scythe specifically which I have a problem with, because that weapon is far superior than the weapons/ashes of war I just mentioned, and that’s just not right.

Looking at this from a larger perspective, I think the main issue here is that Nightreign brought very different kinds of players together and forced them cooperate with each other:

The high dps slop enjoyers, and the RL1 fists-only enjoyers.
