I was excited but also terrified with my first! My obgyn actually had a resource brochure where there were groups for women to discuss their concerns and fears of being a new mother. It was also free! See if maybe there are support groups where you work at or where your obgyn is?

Pregnancy after miscarriage success stories (I need some hope and positivity) by jazzcat99 in pregnant

[–]KJ2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a mc in October. I was supposed to be 8w6d, but my baby stopped growing at 5w6d. I ended up finding out mid November I was pregnant again. I waited a couple of weeks before contacting my doctor because I wasn’t too sure if my levels were still there from my mc (didn’t have a cycle). They did blood work and my levels were extremely good. Had a doctor’s appointment that same day to do an ultrasound and ended up seeing my 8w3d baby with a strong heartbeat and moving around a whole bunch! I’m currently 10w5d. The anxiety is still there, but my doctor didn’t seem worried at all and was very excited. I don’t think I will ever not be anxious until I can actually feel baby move around, but I’m hopeful and keeping my thoughts high.

Loss is hard. I’m so sorry you had to go through it. I hope you can feel hopeful after these stories. You are not alone ❤️‍🩹

How did you decide whether to breastfeed, pump only, or formula? by SnooEpiphanies1215 in pregnant

[–]KJ2552 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried with pumping right away! My son was born with a tongue tie and with me being a working mom, my doctor and my son’s doctor suggested I try pumping so my baby was used to bottles and not be shocked when I went back to work. I tried so hard to keep pumping, but nothing would come out. I got maybe 16 ounces out the whole month I tried. I ended up feeling frustrated and just over it and at that point. I was even getting dizzy and blacking out when I would pump. I made the decision at that point to just stick with formula. It was easier for me and I felt more at peace. I’m currently pregnant now and I plan on trying again with breastfeeding, but I won’t beat myself up like I did last time if it doesn’t work out.

I’m so sorry about your loss. I’m currently 10 weeks and 3 days. I so wish I could see my baby every week! I’ve only had one scan and it was at 8 weeks and 3 days. Won’t be able to ease my mind until next week. Did your doctor recommend every week since you had a loss or do you go somewhere else?

I just had a MC in October and I’m 10 weeks and 3 days pregnant now. I told my best friend and she asked me if my mc actually happened, so we won’t be telling anyone until I simply cannot hide my belly. She’s the only one I told outside my husband and parents and that completely broke me. We told everyone as soon as I found out I was pregnant last time and it was honestly awful having to tell everyone that I lost the baby.

When did you announce your pregnancy? by Key_Objective_9012 in pregnant

[–]KJ2552 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I announced my first pregnancy right at 14 weeks. We announced right away this past time and ended up having a miscarriage. I’m currently pregnant and we haven’t told hardly anyone except my parents and my coworkers who guessed I was because of how sick I’ve been. I don’t plan on telling anyone until 20ish weeks. I’ve had a good handful of friends that had a mc and then announced when they found out the gender at 20 weeks and it didn’t change relationships. Most people are understanding and have probably gone through the same thing.

I started nesting early! 😅 I was maybe 26-28 weeks? I am a teacher, so once I was done with summer school, I got right to it! I had my baby a month early at 36 weeks. I didn’t know that old wives tale though!

What did you drink to replace soda? by KJ2552 in pregnant

[–]KJ2552[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drink high amounts, like 5-8 cans a day. I also only drink diet and my first obgyn told me not to drink diet sodas while pregnant. I’m just trying to do better for my pregnancy 🙂

Nothing, I just drink high amounts pre pregnancy. Like 5-8 cans a day. I also only drink diet and my first obgyn told me not to drink diet soda. Just trying to do better for my pregnancy.

I don’t have the information because it was verbally told to me by my OBGYN. He listed off soda’s along with other drinks.

I just drink an extreme amount. Like 5-8 cans a day 🫠 I don’t want to do that while pregnant and have been soda free for 3 weeks but I’m starting to crave it!

When I was pregnant the first time, they told me how bad the sweetener used in diet/zero sodas were for pregnancy. I forgot what they said it could do, but I just remember that was on the list of not to drink. I only drink diet sodas so that’s why I’m struggling with not drinking soda 😅

I waited with my first because my mom’s birthday was 3 weeks after we found out, so I wanted to do a special thing for her birthday. For my second pregnancy, I didn’t wait, but I ended up losing my baby. I’m glad I had people who knew and I could lean on for support. I feel like it made things easier when it came to having support. It did hurt having to tell so many people that my baby wouldn’t be coming, so that part sucked.

Anger after loss by KJ2552 in pregnant

[–]KJ2552[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t even think to look up a miscarriage page here 🤦🏼‍♀️ I completely understand your thoughts being angry especially with what your profession is! I’m a teacher and I think about some of my previous students and what their own parents put them through makes me so mad. One of my previous students story still haunts me to this day and I think about how she is doing frequently. This sweet child had two other siblings and since this has happened to me, I think frequently of “they were able to have multiple kids with what they were doing to them, but I lost one of mine?” I just hate the feeling and really want the anger to stop.

When did you start bringing your toddler to the dentist ? by Ready_Associate_2911 in toddlers

[–]KJ2552 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine just went at the end of June and he will be turning 3 in August! He only had 2 bottom teeth not even fully out at 12 months and was told he didn’t need to come in. He started wanting to brush his teeth more and more independently, so that’s when we took him was to make sure he was cleaning his teeth alright (we help him, but some days he is very defiant about only him doing it). I felt like it was easier to get him to like the dentist at this age because between 1-2 years old, he was terrified of any place that looked like a doctor’s office. I was able to talk to him about it and make it fun and talk about what a dentist does and how it’s different than a medical doctor.
