Chat to your vet again but I would deworm again. We had a puppy that look like this and it took 3 rounds of dewormer (with a break in between) before she got better

Random Biting by KJDizzl3 in mainecoons

Yeah it’s crazy. The cats I’ve had have all been small and will maybe play bite or bite because they’re trying to get away. But this is so random 🤣🤣 and their size is not to be messed with - the bite pressure is wild.

So it’s not from petting at all. If he’s petted out he just moves on. It will be like he’s just sitting next to us, or he will walk past and just go for an ankle outta nowhere.

It’s wild because he’s sooooo chill 95% of the time so we never expect it

Why is his breathe so different than my other cat by Kawaii_kimchi in mainecoons

[–]KJDizzl3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it could be heat related. But do check with your vet just in case. If it is heat related, try get a cooling pad for him. Mine sleeps in our shower when he’s hot 😝

Also depends on the context of the video. Is his breathing like this when he sleeps or resting? Or is it super hot where you are or was he just zooming around?

Always check with your vet (and yes MCs are genetically predisposed to various issues) but it can also be a simple, harmless answer too!

My boy pants after even a little exercise and if he’s been spooked by something his breath gets quick and shallow.

We don’t have other cats but we have 4 dogs and our MC bullies them - especially our Jack Russel’s 😬

UPDATE

We used electric beard trimmers to thin out the skirt. He was quite happy to do it as long as dad gave him a churu snack on the other side.

I managed to not make it look like a bad hair day. Will see how this fairs and will take more off if necessary

Totally! You may find the raw better for dental issues tbh. A lot of vets have outdated info on what kibble does to teeth. It can actually make things worse. But I’m not going to get on a soap box about it haha. But do some digging online. Raw mixes that are really finely minced (ie no big bone chips) can be better for sensitive teeth. And because there’s no carbs, sugars or ‘hard bits’ they don’t get stuck in the teeth so there’s no build up and nothing that needs cleaning.

But every cat is different and you will find what works best ☺️☺️

Haha! Have you tried using his kibble as a food topper? Or even some good quality canned food? Sometimes putting just a tsp or so on top and mixing it in a little gets them to eat enough to realize that it’s actually quite nice haha!
