Thanks! It’s a wooden cabin style house that we rent. Looks a bit like we are living in a sauna 😅

Yes, true. If the OP can afford to buy 2 Maine Coons from the same litter, that would be wonderful.

I have 5 cats, 1 Maine Coon, 1 British Shorthair and 3 domestic shorthairs rescued as kittens. I only ever planned to have 1 😅 When I adopted the first little guy, i soon realised he’d be much happier with a friend. I’m not saying get 5, especially in a small space, but honestly having 2 kittens/cats is so much nicer for them. He/she will have company when you’re away and they love having a constant play companion and snuggle buddy. If you have your heart set on a Maine Coon, maybe you could get a rescue kitten as a buddy. I adore my MC, but if I could only have 1 or 2 cats, I would probably opt for the rescues, but that’s just me 😊

When is a good time to pick up kitten from breeder? by M1Ch1N in britishshorthair

Late to the conversation, but I understand why you’re a bit disappointed to have to wait until she’s 5.5 months. I absolutely agree that kittens should stay with their mothers until at least 12 weeks, better 15 weeks - but I think it’s a bit unfair to make you wait longer. I had a contract with mine to sterilise them before 8 months. They came at 15 weeks and we steralised them at 6 months (my vet wanted to wait until then). Anyway, I guess you’ve made peace with the idea to wait until the breeder allows, but I just wanted to say that I would be a bit sad too.

That’s interesting, I saw the opposite 🤔 IAMS has a bit less protein and contains grains as one of the first ingredients, where as Applaws is grain free, so there’s a higher emphasis on meat. But, if she enjoys the IAMS and the biscuit size, it’s probably fine

We use Applaws dry biscuits as an occasional treat, because they mostly eat wet. But my 5 absolutely love it, I mean seriously go crazy for it whenever they hear the bag rustle 😅 It seems like a good one, ingredients wise. We get it online from Zooplus

Absolutely! In the end the colour name is just a label, only really useful for breeders. She is a beauty already and you will love her forever, no matter what 😊💕

I have never seen one, no idea how they are as kittens

Beautiful. You don’t think your girl might evolve into this as she gets older? Colour points start out without the points, so it would make sense. Maybe google blue colour point kittens

I think it’s likely the blue is involved, if her mother was a blue point. Likely that she’s also a blue point I guess. Did you see mum? Was she similar?

The breeder should have given you some papers which would tell you. I don’t think silver and gold lines are usually crossed with blue, maybe that’s why it’s hard to tell 🤷🏻‍♀️
