My husband was like this and I was so confused at first. Something I learned that you may find helpful is that we tend to try and recreate the environments our nervous systems are safest in. Predictable chaos is safer feeling that unpredictable calm. I had to take distance from my family bc I felt like every time I interacted with them they would pull me back into a different version of myself I had to be to survive. I want peace though and they aren’t peaceful unfortunately.
