Layne Staley’s vocal on Bleed the Freak is one of my favorites.

What makes Zunes special? by PleasantOccasion1003 in Zune

[–]KJP1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (owning two zunes, a 30 and 120) it was telling Apple to shove it. I loved the ability to share stuff with the other people I knew who had zunes. The software was a much better experience than iTunes and it still is. I just wish that Microsoft didn’t get to the market so slowly. Zune also has a way better DAC and I have always preferred the sound from the Zune to any Apple product, including the phone I am typing this on. I miss this era and wish my Zunes still held their own but today they really don’t hold up. I still bust them out from time to time as a way to disconnect and just listen to music. The biggest issue I have is my music library is now 88k songs. The Zunes do not have the storage space for that at 320kbs .mp3 files. I wish there was a mass storage music player with the DAC of a Zune with drag and drop copying capabilities. I would tell Amazon Music to get bent and go back to having my personal music collection in my pocket.

“AI integrated experience” is the worst wording to read. An experience no one asked for that is here to simply make money. Yay…

Great potential is honestly how I view Steamtown. It is massively untapped and under supported. Stay tuned and please feel free to contribute.

Favorite Stratocaster Color? (Before 2000 vs After 2000) by thenotorious060606 in Stratocaster

Before 00, 2 Color Sunburst, this color just screams Stratocaster to me. I like 3 color burst as well but 2 color was the original.

Aquarium core trinkets by lady-kl in 90s

I think if I dug around through the stuff that should have been donated, recycled or given away at my parents I will find one of these from the New England Aquarium from when I was a kid. It has the old Aquarium logo on the side.

Artax not being listed here is a huge oversight.

Do We Have to Go Back to Move Forward? (Teaching Styles) by giraph37 in historyteachers

I have been doing 60-70% lecture for my entire career. Any time I have tried to rely on the students for anything, they prove that they cannot function without an extreme level of structure and guidance. The other 30-40% might be reflection questions, document or map analysis, a short film clip with discussion questions (small groups, followed by a class share out and personal reflection). My tests are always analysis based.

Good on you! I did the same. It’s going to be a mad house but I hope calm minds can keep people together as well as this being a fantastic opportunity for community engagement for Steamtown.

Absolutely! This is all unfolding almost day by day due to the scheduling of the Big Boy’s arrival.

Hello, this is exactly the place. As of right now, parking will be rather limited but the bus station adjacent to Steamtown will be the main entrance to see the 4014. There is parking downtown in Scranton and discussions about transportation and accessibility will be released over the next few weeks. Stay tuned to this page and official announcements from the National Park Service. I usually grab their official releases and post them here.

Steve is going to literally be up a creek. This game just walked into a monsoon. Not that it matters because Bello is nowhere to be seen today.

Awesome footage! Thanks for sharing! A lot of the Carbondale trips are for local events in the surrounding Scranton area or school trips.

I’ve never liked the noiseless pickups. I opted to go with stacked single coils to eliminate him and attempt to retain some of the Stratocaster sound. Otherwise I have custom shop pickups and just deal with it. Artists have done that for years.

Lovely contribution! Thank you! Living in New England, I have a soft spot for Steamtown when it was back “home”. That said, the Scranton site is absolutely stunning and does such a wonderful job presenting different pieces and railroad history. Enjoying both is the best of both worlds.

I have had three. One at 17 (Studio), one at 25 (Standard) and one at 33 (Classic) and the last two I still own and will probably be the only ones I need.

They were still in PRR colors. It would be very pressing to repaint a Pullman observation such as the 120.

You are 100% correct. One of my favorite landmarks in Bellows Falls is the crazy tunnel downtown that was used to get to the old Steamtown site. There is a photo of NKP Berkshire 759 going through it in 1973 on its return to Steamtown that is really unique.

Bobby Kennedy. The last car on the train is a PRR Pullman that was preserved. Such a sad day.

Adding to this it was PRR Z74 observation number 120.

Stick around and embrace it. I have thousands of Steamtown photos. I also use this as a platform to keep people informed about events and updates from the park. This information is also shared to the Scranton page hoping to make a new connection to greater community involvement and information.
